This fic only has one chapter so far and yet it's already off to quite an asspicious beginning. And no, that wasn't a typo.

Mmm, I got that vibe from Will. Always looking, looking for his true love. He'd wander out onto the street and just check out the passing girls, in the hopes that one of them would be his love. He'd hang around bars at night. He'd certainly not, you know, fall in love with a childhood friend and proceed to love her without hope of his love being requited for the next 8 years. No.
Gah! Suethors!!
I have been driven to use multiple exclamation marks!
The most annoying thing about this Sue is that the author grossly mischaracterizes Elizabeth, just so that she can steal Elizabeth's actual personality and give it to the Sue and thus make Will attracted to her. It's just 52 different flavors of wrong.I suspect - and I can't remember if I've voiced this theory before or not - that the reason the Suethors hate Elizabeth is because she really leaves no room for Mary Sues. Anything they can do (all that beauty, guts, adventurous streak, willingness to follow her heart ( ... )

Never mind, I've started looking, and the person above who said Norrington Sues are more literate than the rest of them is right. They're really not so bad. At least, they have paragraphs and stuff like that.
There are, on the other hand, multitudes of girls who have arranged marriages to (a probably evil) Norrington until they are rescued/kidnapped by Jack. Figures.

Governor Swann too; because, you know, smiling and quietly asking Elizabeth if she'd be happy with Will, obviously knowing the answer and asking partly in jest, partly out of parental love, is obviously secret fangirl speak for, "I will force my daughter to marry the evil Norrington! MWAHAHAHA!!!"
Well, duh. And Norrington putting Elizabeth's happiness over his own by blessing her and Will's relationship and quietly backing off is secret fangirl speak for "I am TEH EBIL!! I will forget all about the propriety I live by and have an affair with Elizabeth! And if I had a daughter, I would totally abuse her!!"

Sues start out perfect. Elizabeth doesn't -- she's an appealing but immature character at the beginning of the movie, and as the story grows, so does she. She makes mistakes, then learns from them and doesn't make them again. And yes, at least two of the three main characters are in love with her, but we're shown why she's an attractive, love-inspiring person, rather than simply being told that she's teh hawtness ( ... )

My only complaint: shouldn't it be, "I SEEM to have died"?
