And I also have heard the rumor that they were going strictly for the kiddie crowd and gearing the thing for 3-D since both Disney and Pixar are jumping on the 3-D bandwagon in a big way...
Considering what they did with the two sequels already made, this is a logical extension into completely nullifying the layered nuances in the acting of the first?
As for JD packing them into the theater, by the time Disney and T & T get through diluting a great, original character like Jack with fathers, children, brothers, sisters, aunts and uncles, third cousins twice removed (with great singing voices), spelling out and explaining away every shred of mystery in his background and setting him to play Laurel and Hardy with Barbossa, who'd even notice?
They will totally ruin their own fandom! I mean, if they went and used Zack E to make a pre-pre pirates movies that take ont he Rob Kid books....that's one thing. He could play Fitzgerald. But no....part of the charm of Jack is that you DON'T know exactly what went on during Jack's years spent pirating, not to mention the ten years before COTBP.
Man, I am totally prepaired to ignore the fourth movie totally. Or re-write it in fan fic. I mean, honestly, if ZE ruins it by his *CoughBADACTINGcough* not even Johnny Depp, or Keith Richards, that other rocker dude nor Geoffry Rush can save it.
It's like the Krakan eating the Black Pearl. It's just gonna happen. No matter how much backstabbing, or manipulating you do.
I had thought to start a chain e-mail where people typed in their names as a way to tell Disney to NOT go with that plot line. If anyone supports me in this, any suggestions on how to do so would be cool. Though I think they are half way through post production and its a bit late to DO anything about it.

( ... )
Yeah. We will know more when the movie comes out. I hpe though that JD will [put the breaks on anything he doesn't like. He has said that he wouldn't do anything he doesn't like and I don't think that they'd let them polute his character.
Let's face it, CJS belongs to Depp. End story there.
