Twenty pounds is nothing to scoff at- congratulations!

Now that I have a wedding to maid of honor at, I plan on working off a lot in the next 6 months. I'm happy to encourage you while I start.

Yes, yes. 20 pounds is great, but you'd LMAO if you knew how much I had left to shed. ;)

I would definitely be up for exchanging encouragement. I'm also a member of a really awesome site: www.inspire.com

They have a whole bunch of topics that you can 'subscribe to'. It's a message board type thing, but not in that old school way. They have a bunch of topics from weight to nutrition to medical conditions to parenting. There are all ages and sizes and it's a pretty neat place. At first, I thought I would just lurk, but I started getting into it and reading about people's journeys and talking abut my own.

There is a pretty nice split between people who need to lose a lot and people who need to lose less because of an event happening soon, etc. Some great tips from real people goes a long way. Longer than I would have imagined.

Anyways. If I can do it, you can do it. TRUST ME.

Girl, I feel ya (haha, that was so... cliche). I gained 50 pounds in the last 5 years. I wasn't ever a skinny person, but I was always active in sports, color guard, and dancing so I wasn't out of shape, but then I stopped cold turkey in college. It's been so hard to get motivated to lose weight because in high school my activities always involved a lot of people and I had so much fun that it didn't seem like work. Now it's like, holy crap, working out SUCKS so I just haven't done it. I was on Weight Watchers in 2007 and it was going well until I pretty much had a stress breakdown.

Thanks so much for suggesting inspire.com. I've already made a lot of dietary changes, but I know nothing will really happen until I start exercising. It'll be nice to find free encouragement. :)

You're in luck, I love cliches! Also... I am right along there with you regarding the whole... Athlete in a Past Life. I used to play ice hockey for three teams in a single season. I used to play on a 'spring' league in the off season and then switch off to softball in the summer for two teams. I also played indoor softball during the fall ( ... )
