It's so strange seeing my Western friends make all these ~multicultural~ dishes at home. idk, I don't know any single (mainland) Chinese person who actually cooks non-Chinese food at home. People will go out to eat food from other countries, but at home, yeahhhhh. Though granted, we do kind of use different cookware...(and ngl, cooking food from ( Read more... )

I used to like blue cheese, but recently I just don't like it anymore.

I used to love cherries as a kid, but after having bing cherries so often whilst in the US, I now refuse to spend money on them, haha! I do love Rainier cherries still, but they are so expensive (and I've never seen them outside of the US!).

Yeah, I think it's a Western thing. Cultural melting pots and all that, I guess.

What Night Owl 9 said: it's a melting pot thing. Many Americans have more than one heritage (often several), plus some areas of the country have strong ethnic cuisines that people are exposed to no matter what their heritage (think New York Italian, or Tex-Mex).

My tastes have changed as I've aged, although I'm never going to like milk! I did get to where I'll eat cheese and (rarely) yoghurt, but milk, bleh!

It's so strange to find someone who doesn't like milk, imo, since it's such a big part of Western diets! I used to not like plain milk, but I became okay with it maybe five or six years ago. I don't think I'll ever be okay with non-full fat milk, though, just because I have this thing against not eating foods in their ~natural~ form. XPPP
