It's so strange seeing my Western friends make all these ~multicultural~ dishes at home. idk, I don't know any single (mainland) Chinese person who actually cooks non-Chinese food at home. People will go out to eat food from other countries, but at home, yeahhhhh. Though granted, we do kind of use different cookware...(and ngl, cooking food from another part of China can already be counted as 'spicing it up' for us, what with having eight ~great~ regional cuisines and all ;p).

I noticed the other day, when I had my first ever Dairy Queen blizzard, how my palate has changed over the years. I used to not really be a fan of strawberry ice cream, but recently I've found myself being perfectly fine with it. And I used to really dislike coconut stuff, but now it's okay, i.e., I'm one step above tolerating it. And I rather like coconut juice now, too, whereas I didn't used to. I also used to not like garlic chives when I was a kid, too, but I've loved it for something like seven years now. :p
So I'm curious whether the flist has experience anything similar? :)
i love food,
