After the routine visual sweep to make sure there were no bugs and no one following, he slipped into the warehouse. He kept one hand on his gunbelt as he strode in - he still felt a bit naked having his Needler swiped and put in some storage box by the government shmucks around here, but it didn't take too long for him to get his mitts on a Colt .45 that would do the job.
In spite of the expectations on any SHIELD personnel, he was actually a little surprised to see that she had waited.

She staid where she was, standing by a wall of to the side as he entered. A small part of her was also wondering rather loudly why the hell she had waited. Desperate times and desperate measures be damned, she had a pretty good idea of how Fury worked. While those methods were undeniably effective, they tended to be puts towards achieving goals that stood in nearly direct opposition of Maria's own more often than not. She hadn't even needed her chat with the Widow to know what his thoughts on this SCYTHE organization would be, after all.

With that kind of deadpanning for her opening statements, Nick could at least take comfort in knowing that this was the real her. He planted himself a few feet away from her, quietly sizing her up. She looked...not bad. Slightly healthier than the last time he'd seen her, but if she was in line with how the rest of SHIELD felt, she would probably be weary already.
"Besides, I think with the way that people are being governed here, subtlety is our best bet." He chose his words deliberately, trying to avoid openings for her to snipe at. He'd rather things stay on topic as possible.

Which essentially summed up Maria's point of view regarding the level of vitriol the Capekillers were getting from the general population based on all the evidence she had seen so far. A few arrests and roughing up in response to breaking the law, then being release? SHIELD did worse to people it liked on a routine basis. And Nick Fury had played no small part in starting that fine tradition.
"I take it you've seen to your chip."
