WHERE: Generic empty warehouse #27 that, in 616, would have been generic SHIELD safe house #27.
WHEN: 2am a few days after Maria’s intro post
WARNINGS: Look who is in this meeting. Seriously.
SUMMARY: Maria continues her quest to be the very best, like no one ever was, and play Catch ‘Em All in meeting with former SHIELD directors.
The only real consolation to her bordering on desperate wish for an LMD for this occasion was that Fury most likely felt the same. It wasn’t much of one, considering that Fury had his readymade army of fanatical adult children to cover him should he wish it while Maria was, truly and utterly it seemed after her last few meetings, alone. Not that she allowed it to concern her. It was a state of being she’d grown more than accustomed to over the course of her life, and especially during her tenure as the leader of SHIELD. No use in letting it bother her now.
She arrived at the meeting spot a full half an hour before the designated time. There was a good chance Fury would be there already anyway. That chance kept Maria’s face set into a preemptive frown as she slipped into the empty warehouse, one hand resting on the sidearm tucked into her jacket pocket.
