Nissa didn't like the hotel - it was too confining. It didn't feel comfortable. So she spent a vast majority of her time wandering around the small desert town, becoming familiar with its ins and outs, finding the small places that tourists (if tourists even came to this forsaken place) wouldn't know about. And so it was on one of those little adventures that she discovered the small donut shop ( ... )

Strange is something M'gann is pretty used to so she doesn't comment on Nissa's distinctions or really seem to notice them much. Instead she comes attentively up to the counter, beaming at her new customer fit to out-shine the sun.

"Hi there, welcome to The Doughnut Shack! Are you looking for anything particular today?"

She looked up at the girl when she heard her speak - she hadn't really been paying attention to her, but she straightened when she was addressed, looking at her, her height making her tilt her head downwards a bit.

"Oh, I do not know," she said, her accent somewhat thick, and definitely not local. "I still do not know what they are called....they are like a small branch," -- she held her hands up about 6 inches apart from each other to show the length -- "with this delicious white filling inside...I do not know what they are called."

"A branch with white filling...?" M'gann knit her brow thoughtfully, thinking for a moment. "A thick branch? Is there chocolate too liiike..."

She scooted around the counter to the pastry case and brought out a cannoli and an eclair each. "Is it like one of these?"

Theresa was finished with work for the day, and was famished. She hadn't stopped by this particular bakery yet, but the smells wafting from the place were calling her inside. She waited in the line, figuring out what to purchase as she moved up.

"Oh, hi. M'gann, right?" she asked, surprised to see someone from the network.

M'gann beamed, bouncing on the balls of her feet in delight.

"Oh Theresa! Hi again, how are you doing?"

She grinned, and glanced at the various breads.

"Well I can help with the famished part if you see something here you like." M'gann replied with a laugh.

"I found a bubble bath I liked by the way. It smells like berries and it's SO much fun!"

Despite having passed it millions of times, Sollux had never really bothered with the Doughnut shop. Primarily, he supposed, because he usually didn't feel like throwing money at some kind of human foodstuff that he'd never heard of before.

...But he also wasn't exactly living life in the fast lane at the moment, and boredom is as boredom does. At some point in his daily dose of aimless wandering, Sollux finally ventured into the Doughnut Shack.

And his eyebrows show up to his hairline almost instantly.

"...M'gann? What are you...?" Why was she in ToC. What was this even.

M'gann smiled cheerfully, waving as her next customer came in, but her smile widened when she saw Sollux. Oh right! He lived here didn't he?

"Hi Sollux! Welcome to the Donut Shack!" She leaned across the counter with a grin. "How are you? Can I get you something?"

Sollux blinked.

"Wait, you work here?" It didn't actually take him long to figure out how that worked, considering how fast she could move. He moved over to the counter. "Why didn't you tell me you worked in ToC?"

"I guess I just sort of forgot. I don't spend that much time here when I'm not at work." she said sheepishly, rubbing the back of her neck.

"I'm sorry, I didn't mean to leave you out of the loop."

Oh, how she loves donuts! Ad how she can't believe she didn't know about it. And so Usagi comes into the shop, looking at the menu as an engineer looks over blueprints.

"Hmmmmmmmm..."

"Hi there." M'gann smiles from the other side of the case. "Can I get something for you?"

"...Yes!" Usagi claps her hands together. As she speaks, her comm pipes up, translating her order into English. "I can't...well...I'd like three headlights, three glazed, four Boston creams...two sopapillas, a half-dozen bear claws....hmm...two Kreppel...two Krullers...a slice of chocolate cake and a red velvet cupcake, oh! And a half pound of cream puffs and a slice of plain chesecake...um...you don't have any bean jam donuts by any chance, do you?"

A pause, as if she's forgetting something.

"Oh, and a large coffee!"

"W-we don't have bean jam donuts or coffee miss but I think I can get you all that other stuff."

M'gann fretfully pulled out the biggest cake-box she could find to put it all in, beginning to gather things together.

"Okay so slice of cheesecake, red velvet cup cake, slice of chocolate cake... I don't know how many cream-puffs are half a pound but six of them costs four dollars, is that okay?"
