[Even before her encounter with Clint, Natasha had been waiting for confrontations. It came with her existance, and paranoia kept her alive despite them. Except the once, at least. After the fight with Hawkeye, her caution had only increased. She hadn't spent time in rundown hotels since before her engagement to Stark, and it was a testament to her concern for her own safety that she would sink to occasionally stopping in one now.

The caution paid off. She wasn't surprised at the shadow slinking outside her window. In her mind, it was more a like the arrival of a long overdue guest. Natasha pressed herself into her own dark corner, handgun already drawn and pressed against her chest to prevent it from catching the moonlight. She waited until he figure was fully in the room before she stepped forward, pointing it directly between his...pointy black ears.
