Inside the Leaky Cauldron, Duke Montrose and one unknown pb_dennis August 6 2009, 10:15:01 UTC
The last visiting group for the day at the Reserve canceled which meant Dennis arrived home early to complete chores and earn himself an extension on curfew. Of course, that meant he had to apparate himself over to the Leaky and surprise his girl at work. There was a brief shower before the apparating to the point in Diagon Alley, but he arrived without splinching himself or losing any clothing items.

He walked down the street to the pub. Stepping inside he waved to Orla once he spotted her. "Hiya!" As he waved a pair of men sitting at one of the tables, stood and twisted, turning over the table they were sitting at as the went from man to animal right before his eyes.

Harry had come to the Leaky Cauldron with Ron just after training to grab some food and a drink. The place wasn't terribly packed, but it was full enough and Harry and Ron squeezed themselves into a table by the door before anyone else could get it. As Harry perused the menu, his stomach gave a great rumble.

"Reckon it's time for something substantial. Maybe beef stew or something. What about you?" he asked his dinner companion as he contemplated which beer to order with dinner. Ale would be a good complement. Or stout. Perhaps he'd order stout. That sounded good.

"I reckon I'm after so--"

But then Ron stopped, as if something horrible had occurred to him; it was only a split second, but he sat with his mouth open, glancing from Harry to something he thought he saw happening -- Men contorting, changing --

"Fuck --!"

As the table was turned he sprang to his feet, wand out.

There were two werewolves inside the pub. "Holy shite!" Dennis said, instinctively moving towards Orla to get her out of harms way.

"Stupefy!" Sending the stunning spell towards the wolves, he managed to graze one in the shoulder. The werewolf reared and howled, knocking the next table out of his way as he began to move towards him.

"Holy shite!"

By Gringotts and the entrance to Knockturn Alley, Antoine Rickets and two unknowns pb_melinda August 6 2009, 10:17:59 UTC
Melinda knew it was breaking the law to apparate in the alley behind the convenience store, but she had to cash her check from the previous week in order to exchange it into wizarding money so she could go buy the wicked new whale bone carved drum sticks she had seen in Piercing Sound in Knockturn Alley. And she had to do it before the bank closed, which it was when she arrived at 8:40. "Shite!" She said stumping her boot when she heard howling coming from Knockturn Alley and three werewolves came into her line of sight. Melinda screamed.

Athena was off duty an on her way home after checking in on an order she'd placed with the Apothecary. No babies for her and Charlie. No sir...

She shook her head, she would not begin this again in her head. Her biological clock needed to shut it's face already. Athena was fully into arguing with her sub-conscious when she heard the howling. Then a scream.

Shite.Taking out her wand from it's holster, she immediately went to the source of the attack. It was her job to protect people and bring down the bad guys. Besides, she'd killed Fenrir Greyback, the biggest and baddest, while a pole was shoved through her middle, surely, she could handle this ( ... )

Between Gulliver's Greenhouse and Weasleys' Wizard Wheezes, Victor Pasqual and 2 unknowns pb_tracey August 6 2009, 10:20:23 UTC
Whispering the enchantments for the wards on the bookshop, Tracey finished locking up for the night. While she does try to get most of the paper work done so she can promptly close and leave at 8, Tracey found herself going over the final details of the book drive she convinced to owners to participate in. Satisfied that Flourish and Blotts was safe from another robbery, she turned on her heel to head towards home. Three men huddle together began to pitch and contorted themselves until they were no longer men, but wolves howling at the sight of the full moon.

Neville was pulling the cart that held their smaller plants to entice shoppers into the Greenhouse, when he heard a noise that made the hair on his arms stand up. Howling. Fuck.

Throwing the door shut, locking it and spelling it shielded, he took off in the direction of the howls, running to the rescue as he ever did. Seeing there was three of them, he quickly sent off stunning spells, in the hopes it would hit them squarely enough to slow or even stop them.

Ginny had meant to Apparate to George's shoppe, pop in and say hello. Instead, she was a bit distracted and ended up a smigde off. In chaos.

Shite was her first though. It took her less than a second to notice the fur flying and the growls. She drew her wand and ducked back a bit, glad she got a moment before anyone noticed her. She took a deep breath and then took off running towards the melee, firing a few stunners as she went. She'd be better off closer to other wizards, and two wands were always better than one in a fight.

Neville yelled, trying to draw the wolves attention to himself and away from the blonde they were starting towards. His stunners hadn't done much, so he sent a slicing spell towards them, catching one about the back and making him howl in rage. As he drew the wolf off, he quickly set a shielding spell for himself, and when an elderly man peered out the front of his business, Neville yelled, "Get back!" He sent another spell at the wolf but his attention shifted to the man he was closer to, and with a leap, he was on the doorway, tearing the wood to splinters.

Neville heard a scream, then as rage filled him, he sent a barrage of spells at the wolf, trying to distract him from the man who lay, unmoving underneath him. FUCK.

Neville sent a column of red sparks high into the sky, hoping against all hope that someone from the Ministry would come to help.

It took her another ten minutes to make it to the restraint, even at the steady clip she was walking at. Slightly winded from the push to make it at a decent hour< Natalie stopped to catch her breath and relax before entering. However, she never got a chance. A strange growl followed by a howl came from behind her. She turned and screamed at a werewolf leaped at her.

It was a question of control, was what it was. And as soon as the screams and howls had their domino-like effect all the way down the alley, Rodolphus knew they'd lost control. He'd been shadowing Zimmerman, or, Morningkill, as he knew him, waiting from the exact moment to strike when the wolf had chosen to attack the girl.

"Diffinido!" Rodolphus shouted, arching his wand to hit the wolf's shoulder. There was a spark and a sick, rending crack! as one great, furry shoulder split as if hit by an ax. "Always were too easily distracted, Zim." Rod taunted, drawing the creature's attention. He didn't care about the girl, she had just given up a slightly better opening shot than he hoped for.

The cry of an owl overheard told Rod that Rabastan was similarly engaged elsewhere in the alley. Being separated didn't bother him too badly, there were too many places to hide, even here.

Natalie screamed as the werewolf came at her, even more when the arm came clean off. Trying to run, she tripped over her heels heading towards the restaurant. She fell, skinning her knee. However, she managed to stand and run.

As soon as her mind was clear enough, she began sending distress sparks with her wand as she ran.

Seamus was at the counter, as always; there had been hardly any costumers today, and so he'd been resigned to two dance parties. They'd both ended sadly, one with a destroyed globe and the other with the boss coming up from the back for the first time in ages; Sea now sat with his forehead pressed dazedly into the glass of the front display.

It was in this position that he saw a woman pass, wobbling in her high heels -- there was the sound of collective screaming echoing off the shop fronts. More people began to turn and run (here Seamus stood, brow furrowed, and fingered at the wand in his pocket) and then there was --

"Ohhhhh feck. Ohhhhh GodHe didn't have time to yell back at Sam -- poor Sam, he'd be laughing again by the end of it -- before he was square in the doorway of the shop. Courage had led Sea to do a lot of things he might never have otherwise -- there was a reason the had had finally decided on Gryffindor, after all -- and today it was certainly against his better judgement. He was sure he was going to regret opening ( ... )
