Between Gulliver's Greenhouse and Weasleys' Wizard Wheezes, Victor Pasqual and 2 unknowns pb_tracey August 6 2009, 10:20:23 UTC
Whispering the enchantments for the wards on the bookshop, Tracey finished locking up for the night. While she does try to get most of the paper work done so she can promptly close and leave at 8, Tracey found herself going over the final details of the book drive she convinced to owners to participate in. Satisfied that Flourish and Blotts was safe from another robbery, she turned on her heel to head towards home. Three men huddle together began to pitch and contorted themselves until they were no longer men, but wolves howling at the sight of the full moon.

Neville was pulling the cart that held their smaller plants to entice shoppers into the Greenhouse, when he heard a noise that made the hair on his arms stand up. Howling. Fuck.

Throwing the door shut, locking it and spelling it shielded, he took off in the direction of the howls, running to the rescue as he ever did. Seeing there was three of them, he quickly sent off stunning spells, in the hopes it would hit them squarely enough to slow or even stop them.

Ginny had meant to Apparate to George's shoppe, pop in and say hello. Instead, she was a bit distracted and ended up a smigde off. In chaos.

Shite was her first though. It took her less than a second to notice the fur flying and the growls. She drew her wand and ducked back a bit, glad she got a moment before anyone noticed her. She took a deep breath and then took off running towards the melee, firing a few stunners as she went. She'd be better off closer to other wizards, and two wands were always better than one in a fight.

Neville yelled, trying to draw the wolves attention to himself and away from the blonde they were starting towards. His stunners hadn't done much, so he sent a slicing spell towards them, catching one about the back and making him howl in rage. As he drew the wolf off, he quickly set a shielding spell for himself, and when an elderly man peered out the front of his business, Neville yelled, "Get back!" He sent another spell at the wolf but his attention shifted to the man he was closer to, and with a leap, he was on the doorway, tearing the wood to splinters.

Neville heard a scream, then as rage filled him, he sent a barrage of spells at the wolf, trying to distract him from the man who lay, unmoving underneath him. FUCK.

Neville sent a column of red sparks high into the sky, hoping against all hope that someone from the Ministry would come to help.

Ginny ran towards where she saw the sparks go up and saw Neville. "Thought we were done with this shite," she said as a greeting, and noticed the body on the ground. She shielded herself, then sent another stunner towards the wolf, unsure if she should try something stronger and risk hurting the man down.

"Alive or dead, do you know?" she asked Neville, wondering if she could make a mad dash and Apparate him out without getting swiped.

Nev had heard something snap at one point before the old man went still. "Dead, I think." He felt angry, rage at the senselessness of it all.

"Count of three, stupefy, petrificus, immobulus. Right? One, Two..." And he threw himself into Ginny as the other two wolves suddenly came into the fray.

He sent the spells in rapid fire, trying to stun, or jinx, or immobilize, or anything to the wolves and make them stop. One caught the Petrificus in the chest, and went down, and the other took a swing at him, only he recalled levicorpus just in time. Hanging in the air, it was an easier target, and he sent a slew of spells at it til it was secured.

That left the wolf who'd killed the elderly gentleman, and Nev's blood was high. "Take left, I'll take right. Let me distract him, and you take him down." He told Ginny.

Ginny nodded. "Right," she said grimly, moving to the left. She let Neville cast a few spells before she sent a few cutting hexes at the wolf. The wolf turned towards her, snarling, but turned back at Neville when he cast another spell.

Then she spotted the a large piece of the wood frame from the door. "Get back," she yelled at Neville, Accioing the makeshift stake. It wasn't a vampire, but she reckoned impaling it might do some damage. The wolf turned too, taking a leap and Ginny threw herself out of the way as the wooden stake went whistling overhead. Her arm crunched below her and she felt splinters dig into her face as she bit pavement but she pushed herself up as fast as she could with her good arm, whirling to face the still struggling beast ( ... )

Neville sent some stunners and slicers at the wolf, looking to distract it from Ginny's movement, and he threw himself down, casting another Protego as he went when she hollered, and he saw the beam begin to fly their way. He heard the sick thud of impact, looked up to see Ginny lying on the ground, and he quickly, sent a few more stunners at it, hoping to quell it's movements as he made his way to Ginny, terrified for her. How bad was she hurt?

"Fine." He could feel a few splinters that had got him, but nothing serious. He quickly pulled his wand to protect them, and offered her a hand up. "You?" He looked at her. :Your arm...."

Even without the tingly, numb feeling, Ginny could tell her arm was broken by the way it hung. "Pretty sure it's broken," she said. It wasn't the most pleasant feeling, but she'd be fine. "Other than that, I'm fine," she said, wiping some of the blood off her face and palming it against her jeans.

"I'm good to Apparate, though. Good enough to take somebody else, actually," she said, moving over to take a look at the old man. She checked his pulse, but there was nothing. "Do you think there's more of them still down the Alley?" she asked.

She felt angry and helpless. Why were they constantly dealing with this? When would all the fighting end?

Neville nodded. He saw someone down the street who looked dazed, blood on tier clothing. "Yeah, doubt this was the first stop, or even the only ones. Hey, you want to get that bloke and yourself to St. Mungo's? I'll go check out and see what else is going on further in. Maybe we can get reinforcements or some healers to come here and treat folks." He looked at the dead man. He'd been too late, and he'd never stop feeling guilty about it.

"Sure," Ginny said. "I'll take her, and try to get some healers or Aurors down her. Worse comes to worse, I'll splint this and come back myself," she said with a small, tight laugh. They'd be completely blindsided by this. Who had planned this?

Impulsively, she threw her good arm around him quickly. "Be safe," she told him, and walked off towards the bloodied woman.

Nev gave her a concerned look. "Don't push yourself. If you're hurt, you won't be safe to come back. I don't want anything to happen to you, Ginny."

He squeezed her to him, dropping a kiss into her hair. "You too." He turned towards the sounds of chaos.
