Robards had to stop and speak with the new Department Head, a man her respected and thought would due well at the job, mainly because he wasn't a bureaucrat. After his brief meeting her headed back to his office for his interview with the eager young man. Walking around a curve, Robards nodded to the bloke sitting in the chair outside his office.

"Thomas?" he asked as he crossed over holding out his hand. "Gawain Robards."

Dean shook his head. "Sir. Pleasure to meet you," he said politely. This bloke looked like an Auror, a bad ass, someone who didn't take shit, Dean liked that.

After shaking the young man's hand, Robards lead him into his office. "You can sit there," he said pointing to the single chair place directly in front of his desk, which had several folders and pieces of parchments stacked up.

"So, you want to be an Auror. Why?"

Dean took a seat and had to hide a chuckle. Brash, this one.

"Because I want to help people, more than I want to do anything else. I fought in the war, I was on the run, things like that don't scare me. I've seen a lot more than most people and I want to put it to good use."
