All of the players were there: designers, models, the caterers, and the entertainment. The house-elves had been busy hours before, organizing a temporary changing area, bringing in small tables and a bar, and setting up seats along the smooth polished floor to act as the catwalk. Pansy had decided she liked the way the floor felt to walk on, instead of installing a raised pedestal. And most of the other models, who had graciously offered their time and services agreed. Many of them, even though they were wizard born, had never been in the Library; Pansy hadn't either, but she thought the space just lent itself to glamor.
She had been on her feet for hours, supervising the movement of the gowns, setting up the booths for the models to be made up and have their hair done, and get fitted and put into their gowns. There was a long line of tables, with clipboards using a form of a Protean charm, to connect them all so that anyone collecting donations could keep track as to which gowns were still available. All gowns had been numbered, and labeled, and were totally almost two hundred at this date. Pansy could not display all of them, so she had selected a sampling to have the models wear, and she thought that would spark enough interest to purchase the rest. A base price had been marked, but a larger donation would be willingly accepted.
She took a deep breath, and moved to signal the musicians to begin. She wanted to hear music; it calmed her own nerves and set the tone nicely. She was excited, thrilled in fact, that the event was finally taking place. She had her eye on a few gowns herself. Now, if Harry Potter and Ron Weasley would show up, the good press would be connected to her name, and link it with hers, and she could start striving for what she longed for, more success her than in the Muggle world. All of the desingers that had donated to this show, had some market in the Muggle world, and she had impressed them with this whole enterprise. In some ways, the meer act of putting this event on had raised her prestige in her fashion industry's eyes. More orders had been made, for her designs and more photo shoots had been scheduled. She was practically humming with happiness at how everything was working out. Now, if all the dresses sold, she'd be more than pleased with her work.
