There was a certain logic to Luna that Zach liked, sure she didn't always run in the realm of the believable but at least it wasn't just random faith. Perhaps he had run that day so he could survive to do something later in life. Not something he wanted to dwell on now but later he might give it a closer look.

"I don't know meaning in my life, connections. I have not seen my family since the end of the war." He said mostly to himself. Just saying it made it more real. There were a few owls from his mum that he read and reread all the time and that was it.

Zach couldn't believe it in less than a decade, the Ministry had changed even in minuet ways. "Luna? How much do you remember from History of magic? Anything important between the years 1903 and 1911?"

"I don't know honestly. For a while there I thought we might have a chance but Ogden seems like a puppet and I can remember the last puppet Minister we had."

Zach sighed as he closed the book. While he put it back he thought about Luna's quesiton.

"My original question is what is the underlying reason for the questions on the census and I guess the person who would know is the person who wrote it, right?"

"He is an amusing puppet," Luna's eyebrow arched, although she was aware that statement probably didn't help anything.

She automatically returned her own book to the shelf as Zach did, using one hand to wave the dust away.

"Most likely," she sighed. There was only so many things a books could tell you. You could ask as many questions as you pleased and it would always call back the same answer; whatever happened to be written on the page.

True, Ogden did seem mostly harmless, but that just made Zach worry even more about the guy’s handlers. What kind of nefarious person was in charge of their community?

“You know what? I think I’ve had enough for today. How about I take you to the pub for a bite? I’ll take a couple days to process what we have learned and see the most logical way to proceed. That ok/”

Luna beamed and nodded. As much as she loved books and research, there were too many possibilities here. Everything needed thinking over.

She shook the dust from her hair, "I like that idea."

With that agreement Zach led Luna out of Hall of Records and down the way to the Painted Pony pub. He liked muggle pubs and this one was busy. After finding them a booth, Zach cast a privacy spell put a damper on the noise in and out going.

"Here we are, have you been to a muggle pub before?"

"No, I haven't." Luna stared around owlishly for a moment, analysing the environment as if she was doing research on a recently discovered breed of magical creature. This really wasn't that different from the Leaky or the Three Broomsticks. Actually, it felt more normal.

"Everyone here seems happy," she said at length.

He was a little suprirsed to hear that Luna had never been to a muggle pub, Zach knew that she didn't have anything against muggle borns so he racked it up as lack o opportunity.

"Yeah, they do. For Muggles the pub is the place to come to be mellow, hang with your mates and all the fun stuff. Foods not bad either."

As he spoke the serving wench came up and gave them glasses of water along with menus.

"That's why I go to the pub too," Luna said with a faint smile. See, muggles and magical folk even had similar - no, almost identical - behavioural patterns. Magic aside, why were they considered so different? What made a muggleborn any less of a witch or wizard?

"What do muggles drink?" She tilted her head to read the back of the menu. "Battered fish? That's cruel." That odd sort of nagging feeling in her head arose - she may have interpreted that incorrectly.
