Animals.

No, this is not about how Gryffindor seventh year boys act like complete animals.
It is about the fact that my parents are sending me my first pet in my seventh year.
Which makes no sense at all.

I got a letter last week saying they were sending my brother up to Hogsmeade soon to drop it off for me.  Why they would send me a pet now after I ( Read more... )

I don't think so. I actually think it's hairless...

It.

...

It doesn't look like a cat.

Looks more like the Spawn of Satan, if you don't mind me being so candid.

Spawn of Satan? Poor kitty's going to have no friends besides me.

EEk, it is quite scary looking... But I'm sure its a very appealing cat...

How about Isis... As the Egyptians worshipped cats and Isis was an Egyptian God...

If you want I could lend you my cat names book (I used to really want a cat when small), or tell you the best names out of it...

I hope so. Usually the animals my family picks out are not the most enjoyable creatures.

Isis sounds interesting... the best names could be helpful too, incase the cat does not happen to be female.

Oh dear...

I'm having trouble finding the cat names book... When I do, I'll tell you some of the better names (they have some odd ones like Eureka and ET, if I recall correctly.)

Actually, I like the name Eureka. I think that's what I'll call it.

[OOC: and then would you like Frank to comfort me over it? Hahahahahahaha. I want to keep the kitty alive, thank you. It's cute. And looks like Oreo if he/she were a cat.]

That's two to the "I hate kitty" list. Poor thing is unloved and not even at the school yet.

[OOC: That was my point. I was looking for him, but I couldn't find him. =(]

That is quite honestly the ugliest thing I've ever seen and I've seen Severus Snape first thing in the morning.

By 'Something strange happened to it' you obviously mean that something tried to eat the bloody thing and then regurgitated it.

Perhaps it'll bond with Filch's cat and then we'll have scores of ugly kittens storming the castle. One can only hope...

Uglier than Snape? Now that's three to the list of people hating the cat.

I hope not, but knowing my brother, maybe.

Bonding with Filch's cat may end well though. I could probably sneak around the castle all the time since Filch's cat loved my cat, if I were the kind of person to sneak around the castle.

Most definitely. Uglier than everything

Nope. They'd team up and form some sort of supercat race that could smell wrongdoing students from miles off.

I don't think so. I think that cat will be lovely and kind. And not like Filch's cat at all.

I'm going to be in the minority, here--actually, I kind of form the minority--but I think he/she's kind of cute. In a rather large-eyed wrinkly sort of way. And I'm sure the fellow has a lovely personality to make up for it, or at least I hope so, because it would be rather cruel if the poor thing didn't.
Due to Eureka's warm reception, you may want to research Shield Spells that work on cats. Most spells don't, but I'm sure you could find a book somewhere it the library.
