I'm sorry to hear you're feeling down lately. I obviously pulled another one of my disappearing acts just after I started showing signs of online life...but that's a rant for my own journal. Just know that I'm quietly offering moral support.
Yes, Yao Chi, the throne panels are to be carved with hand planes and chisels. It's turning into a very labor-intensive task.
I still am working on your picture. Really!
Second Life does require a pretty powerful graphics card and computer to play it well. And it's a terrible time sucker. However, if you do ever end up there, I know a certain pixie fox who would probbaly be veryglad to see you. That's where Alynna is, most of the time now, as far as I can tell.
KOTOR1 has devoured me alive... @_@; That, and I'm re-reading the Young Wizards series. XD Is Second Life Pay-to-Play, or what? First Rhiann, now Ceera... If both of my girls' GMs disappear into 2L, I'll be very sad. ^^;
PS: Especially as Sesame is wondering if she's in trouble for attempted homicide. :3
The basic client software and your first character account are free in SL. If you want to own virtual land, which is not, by any means, a requirement to play there, you need to upgrade to a 'premium membership', and that costs about $10 per month. (Or $72 per year, if you buy an annual membership.) It costs more if you want to own a lot of land, or if you want to run your own simulator(s) and rent out land to others. But I hear there's good profits in being a virtual landlord, if you can build entertaining simulators and get lots of renters

Good to see you and your family are still alive and relatively well. That's gotta count for something, right? I had noticed your long absence on LJ and was getting slightly concerned, anyways...
One thing I've learned from being a housewife is; all things in moderation. I know how addicting games can be, but they should be the reward for your labors, rather than the thing that keeps you from them... And when it comes to hard, daunting projects, trying to devote a simple 30 minutes a day isn't too bad. Knowing that you only have to focus for a little while takes a lot of the strain away. It becomes a much smaller chore, and then you don't have to feel nearly as guilty while playing games. ^_^

And I'll forgive you for enjoying yourself on Second Life.
Me I have 2 time sinks, D&D Online and Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion
I hope things pick up, actually I'm just killing time until July, when I move to Canada to marry Karol.

Were these going to be hand carved with chisels and such ?
*******
I have seen a lot of folks seem to sort of disappear into 2nd life.
Won't be checking that out until I upgrade this computer.
And who knows when that shall be.
Hopefully sooner rather than later.
As for 2nd life, maybe it is good that I have not gotten into that.
