Currently watching the Vancouver Olympics Opening Ceremony live on-line while tucked in cosy out of the rain in Seattle.

I wasn't going to, but apparently Shane's slated to perform at some point, so now I'm glued to it, waiting for him to show up and astonish and mesmerize the largest Canadian television audience in history.

Indeed. They had to reroute the torch AROUND my house because of the giant protest (Carnival Band and all) blocking the Drive right in front of my building. I'm not sure which bright button at City Hall came up with "let's run the torch up Commercial Drive!" but it was probably the first one to recover from the giggles who came back with "Yeah, we can make that Sam Sullivan's handoff point!" (He was waiting at 1st.) I love this neighbourhood.

if Brian Williams hadn't of mentioned that the the torch ice towers or whatever you call them weren't working thenno one would have known any different.

The tv play by play was horrible. But so much of the show was pretty cool. I really loved the entire running through the praries in the air bit.
