Andrew Solomon: Depression, the secret we share.

"The opposite of depression is not happiness, but vitality, and it was vitality that seemed to seep away from me in that moment."

Andrew Solomon is a poetic, eloquent writer on politics, culture and psychology. Does anyone have his book The Noonday Demon: An Atlas of Depression? I would very much like to read a copy. It seems like it would help

required reading, depression, ted talks, video

(If you have a kindle, or a phone or computer that can run a kindle app; the sample of the book you can get from amazon is actually a pretty decent size)

Oh, clever! I do have a kindle now. I just.. forget about it. Always. And where's the charge cord? It must be here somewhere. And what do these buttons do? (etc.)

For the longest time, I used my iPhone with the kindle app; but I gave up and got one of the backlit versions, and it really is much nicer to read, especially at night. And the thing where its battery lasts forever.

Getting the kindle sample of all the books anyone mentions is my new hobby (: I even buy some of them! (And some of them are books I wouldn't have thought to get)
