The most I think about it, and the more that I see posts like this, the more I want to start writing my McShep acting AU that I pinged you about. Just that right now I'm A) finishing up the rewrite for Migration because it HAS to be done soon (I can't keep putting it off). I'm finally at 59.75% complete, so I'm definitely over the hump! And as soon as I'm done with that, I think I'm going to get in and start writing. But right now I'm not reading McShep - I need to re-read that Sherlock AU first, but that has to come after my friend Nazri's Urban Fantasy prequel and book that he wants me to read. If you're interested the prequel, Penumbra, is free on his website. And while I dearly love Naz, he's written his books in first person - so they're taking a while for me to read

I am SO PUMPED for your acting AU. I know it's a hefty undertaking but I'll be here for whatever you need. I totally get wanting to finish your rewrite of Migration, especially if you're basically 60% of the way through. I get needing to reread the Sherlock AU first, and of course your friend's book :) His prequel book sounds FASCINATING, so I am definitely going to check it out. I'm not too put off by first person. Thank you for the link :D
Congrats on your week off :D I'm both sorry and not sorry that Boo isn't going to be there - sorry because it would be wonderful if you got a chunk of time to spend with Boo, but also - you said it yourself, it'll give you time to finish up projects that I'm greedy for, lolll.
Naz's book is pretty good - I mean if you can get me to read first person, then you know that you've captured my attention.
And thank you about the week, though it's just a work from home week, not an actual week off. But because Boo is there, my time won't be as structured as it normally would be with him home. Don't get me wrong; I'm crazy about him - but it's good to have a little time apart, too. :)
I mean if you can get me to read first person, then you know that you've captured my attention. Good point! And that bodes well for me, since I'm not bothered by 1st person.
Awww. Well, working from home HAS to be better than having to go into an office. I totally get the need for time apart - sometimes you just want to be alone.
New dSC6D fic or some older stuff? I haven't even seen Jupiter Ascending, though I keep meaning to. It seems like the campy fun that would appeal to me :D
I read a mix of old and new dSC6D fic. I try to keep up with the new stuff so I can comment to writers who may be anxiously waiting for responses to what they have just posted and I also actively go looking for older fic because I want to Read All The Things.
Jupiter Ascending was shown at a con I attended this month (Bitchin' Party, near Seattle). Fen were telling me "it's cracky and ridiculous," but perhaps because I'm a lifetime science fiction reader the feels I got from it were not cracky and ridiculous feels. (Also, the story opens and closes in Chicago, so that has me trying to think up a way to write a dS JA fusion.)

God, a dS JA fusion would be amaaaaazing. I'd read it, LOL.
And so much to do with these two boys (including the long-waiting plotbunny that's been in my bunny hutch since I read your dS fic about the Highland Stag).
YES! And I totally need to write the dS AU where Ray runs a donut/sweets shop and Fraser is a health inspector. That's also on the top of my pile of stuff to write! :)
I adore Strong Poison! In fact, all of the LPW novels are particular favourites of mine - with Gaudy Night being my number 1 love! (I won't spoil it but if you enjoy Harriet being in them - this is the one! <3 )
I associate LPW with you and sgamadison, so I love that you commented! I do love Harriet, and I looooove how smitten Peter is. I'm so excited to get to Gaudy Nights, but I have a few books to go before I get there...
I think Gaudy Nights is sgamadison's favorite book too...that book must be pretty special 8D
I'm pretty much in love with due South right now, which is kind of funny since I first saw it--god, four or five years ago?--but I recently got the whole series on DVD and have fallen in love with the whole premise, the whole world, alla the characters, etc. So I've been reading lots of dS fic and deciding to write my own because there's just not enough fic and fanwork in this fandom.
Other than that...mostly old 90s stuff. I was into Sherlock for a while, but the blatant queerbaiting and disregard for the fandom really put me off. I'm mostly just reveling in dS right now, honestly.
Due South is sooo amazing ♥ What kind of dS fic have you been reading? Anything you'd be willing to rec?
Sherlock is super weird - it seems like it'd be right up my alley, but every time I open up a Sherlock fic, I get about a paragraph in and get bored lollll.
DS fic...pretty much anything I can get my hands on, with a distinct bias towards F/K. Because I personally subtitle seasons 3/4 "BENTON FRASER GETS A BOYFRIEND." I've read some kickass gen fic, too--including an Angel: the Series crossover where Fraser and Charles Gunn are partners crossing America and hunting demons. And another one where Fraser is half-Inuit. And another one where Fraser's grandfather is trans, that one is still fantastically amazing. Shall I give links
( ... )
Seasons 3/4 was definitely FRASER GETS A BOYFRIEND. There were some crazy, slashy moments in that show. I haven't read any gen at all. I totally get how it feels to rec in an older fandom - feels like everything good has been mentioned. BUT due south is an interesting fandom, for me: I really love it, but I haven't read a whole lot in it. So rec lists are always a boon for me XD
You can rec me some Sherlock stuff, but don't go out of your way. I can't promise I'll finish any of the fics, and I don't want you to feel your time was wasted~

But I'm still firmly entrenched in the world of McShep, so there's that. When everyone else has moved on I'll still be posting AUs. LOL!

SAME!!!! Good god, there's so much to do with these two boys in random settings. I swear, my "to be written" pile keeps growing!! :)
