For continuity's sake: did you realize earlier in the story you said "two gallons of water in used antifreeze containers" and then later you refered to the containers as "milk jugs" in this entry?

You are wise beyond your years and very observent to-boot. I am aware of the discrepency and, in fact, made the correction to my MS Word version but failled to go back in the journal and update. My original inclination was to use milk jugs but I honestly could not remember if they were available in Southern Illinois in 1971 and I couldn't remember what Jim was carrying his water in. I have since recalled a story from the late 60's of an explosion that occurred out at Scott Air Force Base caused by an airman who put helicopter fule in a plastic milk jug and the static electricity caused by the plastic ignited the fumes. Thus I was able to confirm my original inclination the rest is history.
