Dental Colleges

I broke a crown this morning and now I have to have it replaced.

Problem #1 The dentist I had it done at only guarantees it for one year (it's been 16 months) so he's not going to fix it for free.
Problem #2 My insurance company will only pay to get a crown done on the same tooth once every 8 years.

So I'm stuck paying for the whole darn thing.

Had a root canal done 5 years ago. Dude working on me was not a student but a med. school graduate working residency requirement or smth. So its not like they learn how to do it on you, they are already fully trained on dummies (or whatever they use for training) and, possibly, other humans that did not have to pay a thing :)
That was a large local public university, so I assume medical school there is pretty good. So don't go to just any dental college, pick a better one of those that are around.

RESEARCH! Be careful what you sign! Do not go to Western Dental, which is also called Dr Beauchamp or something like that. I went there, the dentist literaly almost killed me. He even refused to accept fault for 4 full days. Until I was within hours of dying.

Real long story. The dentist pulled an absessed tooth. I was on antibiotics for 10 days and it was still not ready. He still pulled it. It came out in 10 pieces. And apparently one piece stayed in. Between that piece and the absess, it got real ugly. The absess traveled to my brain and heart. The dentist (a student) refused to admit wrong doing for almost 5 days total. I ran a fever over 104, for 4 of those days. I didn't and couldn't drink or eat. The only reason I didn't dehydrate was my wife at the time forced liquid down me by massaging my throat ( ... )

How do you find a dental college? Is there a list of them somewhere online?

my partner at work's grandmother went to the one here in town (Arizona) and she loves it...so that's also a vote in their favor.

But I bet if you look up dental schools in your area and call them, they would know where to call.

wow. I had my braces done by a professional...and I've had to have every tooth but the front bottom 6 worked on (or need work on).

I'm glad to hear that she had such good results. I'm beginning to think that with the right research and such, this is going to be a good find.

Go for the dental college. Teaching colleges have LOTS of supervision going on all the time, and its not like they're gonna have a rank noob working on people's faces.
