I told myself on my birthday last year that I'd run a 10K by my birthday this year. I've started training for this (and Jesse has been training with me) -- an interval training (
couch to 10K) program. It's going really well! I'm up to week four now (so I can run two miles without stopping), and next week I stop intervals and just start increasing

i know you mentioned you were going to do a 5k down in san diego. i was looking at that one, after you mentioned it, because the timing's right. are you still aiming for that? it would be fun to see each other if i am, in fact, going to be down there!
