1-19: A very nice evening at the hacker space. Many people were there, because it was the annual meeting and board elections. Had some lovely conversations. samwinolj came! I was quite pleased to see him up ad around after his surgery.

1-17: Field Museum! I took the train down to the Loop and met Chris and the girls for a day of fun at the museum, then we stopped at the hacker space so Chris could see the place. Then we stopped at a nifty little brewing/coffee roasting/photo supply/electronic kits shop I found last week, and finally had dinner at Pita Inn. It was a very good day ( Read more... ) -

1-15: First thing in the morning, I baked a cake. For various reasons I have not tasted it yet, but it smelled amazing! I had lunch with Chris; and after the end of work, I went to the movies.

1-14: Mead! My work schedule fell apart, so i had some time to finish buying the supplies and equipment to take another run at making mead. Including buying a very nice 10l demijohn, with which they threw in a VERY nice glass double-bubble airlock. So in the evening I mixed up 10l of mead and set it to fermenting in the ferment chamber at the shop ( Read more... ) -

1-12: Met an adorable kitten at a brewing supply shop on the far South Side, and then had a lovely chat with the proprietor of that shop about making mead.
1-13: Finally bought the little set of shelves I wanted for the corner of the kitchen. Slight organization improvement results.

1-11: Knitting machine! At the shop we have some knitting machines. Including one double-bed Passap machine from the 80s that no one has gotten working since it was acquired.

1-10: Once a month or so on Sunday, the brewing group at the shop does Beer Church. This month I was actually interested, because it was not beer but mead. So I went. I didn't participate, for a number of reasons. But I will be mixing up my own batch in the next day or two and I'll be a couple of days behind everyone else ( Read more... ) -

1-8: Christmas postponed. Mom's health made Christmas on Christmas not able to be a thing. So we waited until now to do it. It was lovely.
