Other comments? I feel like I haven't tagged enough with him, so I'm not sure how others have taken him. Then again, I feel RPing as a villainous character is a bit hard in poly for whatever reason. Still, hit me with anything.

I'm enjoying Kazari antics, but that may be because I'm also playing a villain. I don't know anything about Kamen Rider, but I find the world intriguing. He's supposed to be not human, and I think you pull of that hint of 'you know something is up with this guy' well. I'm not sure if this is helpful or not, but I have been enjoying watching him work.

So few people really know anything about KR, so I tend not to worry about that. I'm glad these comments, although I've had practice with the human/not human thing. One of my former characters here in poly had a similar but very different human/not human divide. Jokingly I'm typecasting the type of character I like to play... still, that's awesome to know.

The problem with Kazari for me is, that he's so fixated on the goal in the series, that we never see him outside of that context. One of the other Greeed, the bird Greeed Ankh has that. We see him "enjoying" life around him with his "friends/allies/etcetera" which is only further strengthened because he's possessing a human body, allowing him to actually feel that. Kazari on the other hand wants to feel that. He needs to become complete in order to literally feel anything really, and even that will never be enough. I'm probably giving myself some crit here, but that's the major flaw I'm having at least in terms of using Kazari within poly.

Interesting to note. Sadly he's a creeper in canon. He's a part of group of emotionally stunted beings that basically live off human desires. I'm trying to balance out his being a creeper, but even then, he still doesn't know how to act like a human at all. But he tries.

Still, thanks for the crit. I'll have to keep that in mind.

I don't know Kazari's canon, but he's really interesting to play with! Makes me want to check out Kamen Rider so I can find out more. It's been great threading with you with both my guys, so thanks throwing him at them.

The genre switch thing with ActionHero!Neil was really awesome, and you were so easy and natural to play off of even under those weird conditions.

And I was really fascinated by Kazari's interaction with the TARDIS, too-- I would really like to see them interact more in the future because I think it could turn out really interesting.

Bear in mind that Kamen Rider is a franchise like Power Rangers. Heck, Kamen Rider actually predates the parent franchise of PR, Super Sentai, and has been around for a long fucking time. There are a lot of individual series... OF AWESOMENESS, and occasional crap. The series that Kazari comes from just finished airing this past Sunday, so outside of the film that's in theaters now in Japan, and the one that's coming out in December, it's a finished series if you want to dive in. It's not a perfect series, but it's one of awesomeness. If you want other suggestions in the larger franchise, I've seen most of the different series in some form from 2000 onward ( ... )

I'll be honest, I don't know Kamen Rider at all, but from what I know about Power Rangers (which... I'm still not overly familiar with) and when I've played with Kamen Rider characters before, it's one of those fun, campy shows where villains wouldn't be villains if they didn't make themselves pretty obvious. Which can make things tricky when it comes to gathering CR, balancing the villain being villainous without being too obvious and whatever else.

Without telling you to tone it down, the only thing I can suggest is not doing any bonus things which might tip-off to his villainous nature too early on. I don't think I've seen you doing this much, to be honest. I just remember seeing one accidental post and honestly, he gives off enough hints by himself.

Idk. Hopefully that makes sense. Either way, tagging around more will definitely help! It can be tricky getting CR for characters that give off creeper vibes wherever you go, in my experience.

No, that advice is useful. He's not human, so it's more trying to get him to integrate into the City. I'm not trying to give off serious creeper vibes... but then again, he's ultimately a creeper.

Also, if anything, you were probably playing with one of my old characters here if I'm right. I believe you were playing Ray from Life on Mars awhile back. sword_boy was one of my old characters here. To note, some of the more recent Kamen Rider shows have been a lot more campy and I tend to like the more campy characters/shows at times. Compared to Super Sentai (the parent series for Power Rangers), Kamen Rider is know for being a lot darker at times. I mean, it's still a kids show technically, but it's only recently that we've started to see much more lighthearted shows. The series that Kazari is from is unique in that the show has some really strong themes at times, yet most of the main cast is campy and hammy as hell.

Yeah, I'm not saying to take that out. They're all a part of the fun of the character. It just sometimes makes things a little more tricky, but it can totally be worth it.

I was! I've also played with another Kamen Rider character in one of my old games and have seen them about, so I've made a few assumptions based on that.

If it has strong themes, maybe you could use some of the curses to try and get that across whilst keeping the campy personality. I know a lot of them are already cracky, but I'm sure there are some that have strong enough themes.

No, no. Try to find a way to limit it, or use it to my advantage. It's a fine line to try to tread in order to maintain the character yet make it accessible.

Haha. I know we had a few Ryoutarou and possible a Urataros from Den-O in here, and for like one post a Philip and Shoutaro from W/Double but that's the most I've seen in this game. I sadly don't pay much attention to other games, partly because Lee/Huey-mun recruited me for this game, and I tend to always come back here. Still, not enough KR players out there... at least here.

Those strong themes are the times when the campy personality goes away sadly. He purposely "kills" off two of his allies in early series, and in end series, he basically implies that if he has his way, he would literally and metaphorically consume everything because he can finally feel desires of his own. While he's a campy little bastard, Kazari is still an incarnation of human greed and desire.

Yes, exactly. On the plus side, it'll hopefully be easier to maintain when you get to a point you're happy with.

Yeah, I had close CR with a Ryoutarou in one of my old games. They had a reasonable cast, but it's not something you see too often. I think it's a pretty rare canon to play from.

Ohhhh, I see. This is the trouble with trying to make suggestions for canons you don't know. XD

I'm trying. That, or I may bring in another character who's a little more accessible to help balance out those feelings. I'll still balance out Kazari nonetheless.

It does seem to be a rarer canon. It's not one of those big ones which draw everyone one in, but I've gotten a friend of mine to recently chain reaction a large group of people in because I got her addicted. Give the person the right reason, and they'll come right in.

You can't help it, especially considering how Kazari acts most of the time, and who he's basically an expy of from Den-O. I don't think anyone was expecting him to become so bloodythirsty by mid and end season when the series started... and even that drive is what ultimately gets him killed by his own ally. It actually became a running desire for the fandom in general to see him get killed off around midseason, because he had become such a gigantic troll of evil proportions. He's one of those unexpecting characters at times, and that's what he likes. He doesn't want to be noticed until it's too late.
