It's not necessarily my wish. (The tweets are not mine; I'm sorry if I didn't make that clear.) But I do have mixed feelings; it could be better or it could be worse. At least Trump, in his incompetence and emotional immaturity, is helping to keep the Republican leaders in Congress from doing the major damage to the country they're trying so hard to do. I think that they thought not only that they could control him (yes puppet) and do whatever they wanted, but that they'd get Pence in sooner or later. (And damn if I'm not enjoying how McConnell, Ryan and their ilk are desperately flailing; they've found out how incompetent they are, now that they've finally got the control they've been dreaming of for years. Sorry, I shouldn't have presumed posting meant agreement.
Meanwhile, as an outside observer (I'm Canadian), I said during the election that there were no good options for the US, and I think it's even more true now.
While Trump is playing nuclear chicken with North Korea, and seems to be pushing for war with Iran, Clinton said she would be playing nuclear chicken with Russia (via her insistence on war in Syria) and her history gave me no reason to doubt her.
I see no reason to think Pence would be any less belicose internationally, and suspect he'd be a lot more effective at getting horrible legislation passed domestically.
Democrat or Republican, the war party wins, and Americans' freedoms will keep being eroded.
