by the way, good for you for not using internet explorer.
the code was hosed with a stray quotation mark. IE ignores stray marks but browsers like firefox don't. Since the tool I use to upload posts uses IE as its internal browser for formatting I didn't catch the screwup until I loaded it in a real browser.
And the US will produce 14.7 times the last image in 2009 alone.
I'd like to see how 14.7 trillion looks at single-pallet height in relation to something of perhaps comparable size. A stadium? A Wal-Mart? A parking lot? Manhattan?
"GDP can be defined in three ways, all of which are conceptually identical. First, it is equal to the total expenditures for all final goods and services produced within the country in a stipulated period of time (usually a 365-day year). Second, it is equal to the sum of the value added at every stage of production (the intermediate stages) by all the industries within a country, plus taxes less subsidies on products, in the period. Third, it is equal to the sum of the income generated by production in the country in the period-that is, compensation of employees, taxes on production and imports less subsidies, and gross operating surplus (or profits).[2] [3]"
Also, I hate in movies where someone is supposed to bring a million dollars to a negotiation or a drug deal or something and they bring 10 suitcases. A million dollars could fit a million dollars in a Wal-Mart sack if necessary and it would be way less noticeable.
I don't really like money. I wish I were that guy because I have to take a major dump and think a trillion dollars would be just enough to get rid of the dingleberries as well as make a nice warm campfire.
