by the way, good for you for not using internet explorer.

the code was hosed with a stray quotation mark. IE ignores stray marks but browsers like firefox don't. Since the tool I use to upload posts uses IE as its internal browser for formatting I didn't catch the screwup until I loaded it in a real browser.

so, good for you. :) you don't suck.
