About a decision I've made in the SW WiP . . .

I anticipate a bit of a furor or some confusion over a decision I've made in my SW WiP, regarding Anakin's twins. The truth is ( Read more... )

...if we shadows have offended..., don't blame me!, it's not my fault!

So the twins are part Anakin, Obi-wan and Sola/Padme? Lol, I'm confused but very interested. I just love this story and love your concept of the Force. If the Force could bring Anakin into being, why limit the Force the way it was done in the movies? I still hope that Padme decides to hang around, I believe that she could have a very important future but it's not up to me and it would probably hurt her to see the ones that she loves not love her the way that she loves them.

Actually, they were mostly Anakin to begin with. Or, well, mostly Skywalker, which is a bit different. Since the Force made Anakin, all of his genes came straight from Shmi. Nobody else donated anything - no DNA, no chromosomes, nothing - to the mix. The Force gave him more than his share of midi-chlorians, but he's still all Skywalker (which to me indicates that Shmi must be a throwback who didn't look like either one of her parents, or else Anakin would have had her dark eyes instead of the blue eyes he does have. And the Force still must've decided that Anakin needed those blue eyes for some reason, because I think I remember from a biology class I had several years ago that blue eyes follows the same kind of pattern that a recessive trait does). And I think I may be rambling. Sorry! My point was supposed to be that since I've decided to make the twins that Padme would've had (if she'd lived long enough) a product of a similar kind of Force-tampering that Anakin was instead of just a natural result of union between Anakin and Padme ( ... )

Well I just read the post I just missed but it makes sense. Sense Padme isn't hanging around and from what I can tell it doesn't feel right to her to be around anymore. I still feel bad for her. What what you've said about Leia, I agree she does look a lot like Shmi. I've thought that Jaina looked more like Padme than Leia. As for Anakin's eyes, they were perfect and yummy. I understand why Anakin would want children with Obi-wan, it was Obi-wan all along that he loved more than anything. It is kind of nice to be able to see beyond male and female relationships and to just see love for what it is.

Also, I find it funny that both Anakin and Padme were in love with Obi-wan, poor thing he had no idea that he was so loved.

Anakin and Padme aren't the only ones who're in love with him - they're just the most obvious choices, at this point in the fic. The thing about Obi-Wan that's at once so lovably charming and yet so damnably frustrating is that he's entirely oblivious to his own charms and good looks and he tends to be wholly oblivious about everything else about him that other people would regard as good qualities - including all the reasons why it's so darn easy both to fall in love with him and to just love him. He has more people who are entirely willing to do anything at all for him, just because it's him, and he's mostly oblivious to all of them. Or else embarrassed and puzzled by the level of loyalty, which he never does quite feel as if he's earned. *Shakes head in mild exasperation with the man* The poor man's going to have a terrible time in the sequel to this, as there will be a few others joining the cast who are going to either adore him, be a wee bit obsessed with him, or just simply love him . . .

hey just read, the post. and i gotta say, i love what you have done with the way the twins look, in that they look just that little bit, different, especially Luke with his Obi-Wan-ish traits. So they look like a represstantation of Ani and Obi's love for each other. But they are not so different that they are not instantlyt recognisable as THE TWINS you know?
And i have to agree with you about Padme not really resembling Shmi. I think that they kinda pushed the slight rememblance that was there a bit too much you know??? I always thought Leia and Shmi looked more alike, can't you imagine if they had pushed THAT angle? it would put the whole scene torture into a whole light, ( i am so glad they cut that out by the way)
And what is it Obi-Wan not realising just how easy it is for people to love him, and just how worthy he is of being loved???
Oh by the way. Merry Christmas
;-D

*Giggles* Merry Christmas yourself, hon! I'm glad somebody else approves of the way the twins now look just a little bit different. They are still going to be THE TWINS (as you put it) - or I am going to try like the dickens to make sure they are still recognizably the same people, as they grow up, anyway - but since they're going to be raised as Anakin's and Obi-Wan's children, it just feels right, to me, that Anakin would want other people to be able to look at them and know that they're Obi-Wan's just as much as they're Anakin's. I was so afraid it would make people angry, though! But as it turns out, not a single person has said anything negative about it yet, so far, so I guess I was worrying for no reason. Which is a load off of my chest, lemme tell you! *Grins ( ... )

oh yeah... i know, that people say i am the splitting image of my mother, but then if you look closely, they're like, "oh but you have your father's bone structure, and you have his jawline, and that is most definatly your Grandmother's etc."
I have to say though, that with regards to Anakin, i'm in awe of the casting. They got an actor who looked alot like luke -enough to be his father- but not so much that he looked like an exact copy, so you assumed the differences in height and build, facial features came from his mother.
With Padme and Leia........not so much

*Nods* It seems to be a tradition, on my mom's side of the family, to sit down and figure out exactly what relative passed on every single facial feature down to whoever happens to be the newest member of the family. So I tend to try to look for physical features that could've been passed on in families, when presented with people who are or are supposed to be (in whatever film or show I'm watching) relatives.

Anakin and Luke are almost shockingly similar, aside from the whole height thing. I've seen pictures of Anakin and had to look close to make sure that they weren't really pictures of Luke and vice versa. There's a banner on one of the Force.net pages with those two and they are almost eeriely similar. Lucas did an amazing job, casting Hayden for Anakin. Maybe that's why I'm so disappointed that Padme really looks nothing like Leia, come to think of it . . .
