James McAvoy and SW and OMIGOD Frank Herbert and Geroge Lucas would so both kill me . . .

Mar 19, 2008 20:05

Holy freakin' Mother of All. My brain just died. I'm never allowed to watch any more James McAvoy movies EVER. Except maybe when I rewatch Children of Dune for the seventh time. I'm up to six, now (since I can't do all that much else while wearing this damned rigid brace except watch TV). And maybe one more viewing of Atonement and another of ( Read more... )

a long time ago . . ., in a galaxy far far away . . ., i must not fear. fear is the mind-killer

Hey you!!! *hugs you very tight* been ages since we spoke!! missed you!! *hugs more and hands cookies* I know I still owe you a couple of emails/comments!

I'm glad that you can use a tape recorder for your plot bunnies at least!

For the AU, you're speaking about, I think there are boys and girls... But I'll check it later (gotta grab breakkie cause I leave for uni in 45 min bleh!) and will email you!!! *hugs*

*Hugs you back!* Well, I owe responses to things, too, so I wouldn't worry too much about them, if I were you. With this stupid brace on, lord knows I can wait, since I can't reply to too much due to the fact that I can't type worth shite one-handed. *Sigh*

I have my momma to thank for that. She wanted to save me from going bonkers earlier, and I just drug it out again, after the brace went back on.

*Snickers* Dar sent several lists and can't remember somebody or another and said I should double-check with you. I just want to make sure I don't cast anyone who might've sprung from a union between Shmi Skywalker and Qui-Gon Jinn as someone y'all have in mind for one of their children. Honestly, I'm not sure about this possible plot thread just yet, but it would tie into another idea that's very Dune-esque (have you read/seen Dune or am I thinking of Dar? I probably asked this before somewhere, but I plead forgetfulness induced by loss of brain cells from the immobilized wrist) and I have the feeling it's not going to be a pretty story ( ... )

*hugs tight* I hope your wrist is recovering. My brain is going to burst soon. Something told me to check my flist. *points to own tape recorder*

The Chosen Ones (Qui-Gon/Shmi AU)

The only girls I remember at the moment are Jade (Monica Bellucci) Mara and Baska (Gillian Anderson) Anika (Liv Tyler) and Leia (And if you don't know who plays Leia, I'm not telling.) but then again, Shmi Kenobi in One Path wasn't supposed to exist until I'd gotten to the Tatooine stuff so there may be others.

Land and Sky (Happy Endings/New Beginnings/The Search for Peace AU)

Sayqua (Jessica Alba)
Inalia (Aubree Miller)
Shmi (Hopefully she'll still be an infant by the end, so nobody yet... *crosses fingers*)
Sajani (I think we said Susan Pleshette...? She's not a kid, but she is a girl, so...)

Anyway. I'm sure my fellow Evil Genius can check the cast list later. I'm going to go take a shower and tell myself over and over that it is NOT time to read DUNE for another two months. *mutters*

CRAP. We need to find an actress for Obi's aunt, too. *bangs head*

How old does his aunt need to be? I have a running list of red-heads (including reddish blondes and people with auburn hair)I've been keeping around here somewhere, for when I get to the Hapans and Dathomiri . . .

*shoots self* Okay, I just had to come running back out of the bathroom. Mara and Baska are not played by the same actress. I don't know why the HECK I wrote that. I did that. Mara's Kate Walsh. Baska is Gillian. *goes to take shower*

Out of the shower. I also forgot Dama in THE CHOSEN ONES but for the life of me, I can't remember who her actress is. If you see Aruna before me, I'd ask her.

Thanks for all the replies. I'm going to make a running list of all the people y'all have cast for your SW AUs so I can hopefully avoid casting any more of them in similar roles in my monster AU series, okay?

*Hugs!* I offer Easter chocolate to hopefully distract from the feeling of imminent brain-burstage. The sprain seems to be getting better, so hopefully at the end of the three weeks the doctor will let me take this blasted brace off (which really isn't very comfortable) and use those fingers again instead of pretending like they aren't really there. You'll definitely be one of the first people to know, because I'm sure I'll have tons of missed chapters to read up on and reply to!

It doesn't particularly matter to me if we end up using the same actors. *shrug*

*hugs back* I'm glad it's beginning to feel better. I posted the completed Happy Endings. Not really all that much on One Path; I've had some personal crises going on and I don't have the energy for it. I was waiting for Kim to beta something, but will probably post tomorrow. Beyond that, I'm probably going to focus on my book for a while.

*Snickers helplessly* It IS extremely scary. I'm afraid my brain's in danger of exploding from potentially conflicting but probably just plain complex plot lines. I never should've made the mistake of having Qui-Gon sleep with Shmi in my character sketch for him, even if it did help show what a self-centered idiot he can be. That was my first mistake. And I never ever should've watched anything with James McAvoy it in. That was my second and likely largest mistake. That boy's essentially eaten my brain alive and because he's in two quite excellent movies with people I've "cast" as characters in my SW AU already (not to mention the Children of Dune miniseries they did a few years back), he's insisting on taking over the GFFA, both as the eventual Anakin Solo and as two different individuals from amongst the experimentals ( ... )

And then I thought, well, the Sith form of possession and of forming "training" bonds sounds like variations on Palpatine did, in the EU, when he figured out how to move one's consciousness from one body to another (like in Darksaber, when he would get pissed off and kill Bevel Lemelisk in one gruesome way or another and then revive him in a new cloned body, or like how he survived the death of his body over Endor to eventually move into cloned bodies of himself, in those comics Timothy Zahn wrote). And if he could move someone's consciousness from a dying body into a cloned body without that person's permission, what's to say he couldn't or wouldn't move the minds of former failed or terminated earlier experimentals into the bodies of newer grown experimentals, as Zan Arbor was experimenting on them, as another kind of warped experiment involving the resiliency of more Jedi-like minds than Sith-like minds to having multiple personalities kicking about in one's skull? And if he could do that, then what if it's also possible to ( ... )
