James McAvoy and SW and OMIGOD Frank Herbert and Geroge Lucas would so both kill me . . .

Mar 19, 2008 20:05

Holy freakin' Mother of All. My brain just died. I'm never allowed to watch any more James McAvoy movies EVER. Except maybe when I rewatch Children of Dune for the seventh time. I'm up to six, now (since I can't do all that much else while wearing this damned rigid brace except watch TV). And maybe one more viewing of Atonement and another of ( Read more... )

a long time ago . . ., in a galaxy far far away . . ., i must not fear. fear is the mind-killer

*hugs tight* I hope your wrist is recovering. My brain is going to burst soon. Something told me to check my flist. *points to own tape recorder*

The Chosen Ones (Qui-Gon/Shmi AU)

The only girls I remember at the moment are Jade (Monica Bellucci) Mara and Baska (Gillian Anderson) Anika (Liv Tyler) and Leia (And if you don't know who plays Leia, I'm not telling.) but then again, Shmi Kenobi in One Path wasn't supposed to exist until I'd gotten to the Tatooine stuff so there may be others.

Land and Sky (Happy Endings/New Beginnings/The Search for Peace AU)

Sayqua (Jessica Alba)
Inalia (Aubree Miller)
Shmi (Hopefully she'll still be an infant by the end, so nobody yet... *crosses fingers*)
Sajani (I think we said Susan Pleshette...? She's not a kid, but she is a girl, so...)

Anyway. I'm sure my fellow Evil Genius can check the cast list later. I'm going to go take a shower and tell myself over and over that it is NOT time to read DUNE for another two months. *mutters*

CRAP. We need to find an actress for Obi's aunt, too. *bangs head*

How old does his aunt need to be? I have a running list of red-heads (including reddish blondes and people with auburn hair)I've been keeping around here somewhere, for when I get to the Hapans and Dathomiri . . .

fifties, I think. She and mom are dark-haired anyway, but thanks.

Did you ever figure out who his mom would be, or should I just wait and be surprised?

Okay. So, this is scary. I just woke up and had breakfast and I'm sitting there eating like "You know, we still need to figure out who Sajani is." It's a lot like the Owen situation is this fic. I see Owen in my head as a dark-haired Ewan. (He's older than Obi-Wan by about ten years, but that doesn't mean much in the GFFA anyway.) Aruna's doesn't want to use the same actor because she's afraid they'll look too much like twins in the vids and it will limit her ability to use clips of Ewan from other films. In Sajani's case, I've always pictured her as an older version of Terry Farrel. That really doesn't work, since there ARE no clips of Terry Farrel where she looks old enough to be Obi and Owen's mother. So... *sigh* I don't know. I think I may just like post cast lists and give people the caveat that the vids are going to contain different actors in some cases, because I don't think what I see in my head is going to change at this point.

*Lol!* Must've be another one of those odd cases of great minds thinking alike, or something like that. I'm afraid I can't help with this all that much, though. Owen Kenobi and the father of Owen and Obi-Wan Kenobi are both Ewan, in my head (one very blond, one ver dark-haired). Terry Farrell - Jax? Hey, I like that choice, for a dark-haired mother for Obi! Is this or isn't this the shapeshifters? Because, you know, it makes a certain amount of sense for shapeshifters to occasionally alter how old they look . . . plus, there's the whole thing where humans live like twice as long in the GFFA as they do here and they seem to age a lot better/more slowly, especially if they're at all Force-sensitive (so long as they stay away from the Dark Side, that is. Using that seems to age folks rapidly, from what I can tell).

lol. Yup. See, now, that's exactly the problem. Owen, Obi and their dad are ALL Ewan, in my head! Owen's dark haired and Fox is like..older and blonder...but they're all Ewan. The problem is that I had these images (along with David Gallagher as Obi and Padme's son) firmly in my head by the time Aruna changed her mind and decided she wanted to vid this story. So I'm like mentally trying to keep reminding myself that they look like other people and my brain just...won't cooperate ( ... )

Mine are the other way around, hair-wise, but yeah, I don't think I could actually make either one of them be somebody else at this point. It doesn't matter if I haven't really written much of anything about either one yet - my brain knows who's who already and it's firmly convinced of those facts. *Shrugs a bit helplessly* This is totally going to not help, but the only other person I think my brain might ever accept as a parental figure, visually, who's not someone I already have in mind, would be Sir Alec, and that's more of a just because kind of thing. And you're stuck on his mom, and, well . . . *Frowns* Has Ewan ever been in anything where he had a mother? I'd be tempted to check his movies, to see if anybody struck me as being workable, if I was drawing a complete blank ( ... )

*sighs* Well, when we talked about it, we decided on using Sean Connery for Fox but that was more because of the availability of clips than any other reason. I love Connery to death, but I still don't "SEE" Connery when I think Fox Kenobi.

I think we decided that there isn't a movie with Ewan having a mother, or at least not one that works. *sigh* So, like I said, I think that what I'm going to do is just consider the vids to be an "adaptation" of the story this time around because I'm really struggling with it every time I sit down to work on anything to do with Obi's family, it's irritating, and... yeah.

I lied. We also have Olivia Hussey as Ryoo and Sofia Miles as Pooja in both ONE PATH and THE CHOSEN ONES. Going now. *hugs*
