You know, I had no idea Jason Katims was working on Friday Night Lights. Huh. Because I was reading the Rob Thomas interview at TWoP and he discusses how he was originally offered the job Jason Katims got in the end. Total head spin. I did a write up a while ago about the similar fate of my fave fandoms, similar storylines and the way I think ( Read more... )

I didn't know Katims had anything to do with FNL. I loved the movie. So naturally I was very tempted to check out the show because from the promo's it looked like it was going to be really good. However, something always kept me from actually watching it.

But now that I know about him working on it, I'm glad I stayed away. Because it seems like anything Katims is involved in goes to hell very quickly and inevitably gets cancelled.

Well, I heard it was good but I'm not really interested in American football. Bit of a cultural clash there, so never really considered watching it.

I just want Rob Thomas dead.

Hee! But I think Jason Katims' AlienAbductionBaby was worse than Rob Thomas' ComaBaby. It's hard for me to decide which show runner disappointed me more. I honestly think RT isn't the worst one I've ever encountered before even if he is obstinate so I don't really wish death on him. Yet. The execution of those spoilers might change my mind (Though at least you'll get your naked Logan scenes - Logan/Madison might look really hot for all we know).

I was never that much of a Roswell fan; I did like S1, but I wasn't that into it. I did love Michael/Maris first season and loved their first kiss. But like a said, not a shipper or anything on that show.

As for VM, yeah, I pretty much want Rob dead or mute. He's so much more easier to ignore when I don't have to hear his stupidity.

As for the spoilers, I have to admit, I'm really looking forward to them now. I mean, I'm not an L/V fan. So when the breakup does occur, I'm hoping it means Logan gets a storyline independent of Veronica. Either way, they're not together - which makes me happy.

It's so odd reading your comments now that you're adamantly against L/V because you used to be into them.

I know Veronica will continue to piss me off if she treats Logan like she has been, but part of me worries that we'll see a lot less of Logan if they stay broken up. The show's named after her, so . . . Meh. Why couldn't the show be called 'Logan Echolls'?

I know! I actually got bizarrely excited when I read that. I had a definite period of obsession with Roswell, and I've been loving FNL.

I never really got involved in Roswell fandom, though, except for gorging on fanfic. Why do you want Jason Katims to bleed? Was there an anti-Katims movement, like there's an anti-RT movement?

Oh yeah. I mean . . . the whole Tess/Max thing was ridiculous in season two and I was never even a fan of Max/Liz so I know it wasn't my shipper heart being bias. I'm not talking about the relationship between Max and Tess itself but the way it was executed (especially since Kyle/Tess had been built up and people were starting to really like Tess at the time he reversed all the work he'd put it ( ... )

Yeah, the Tess/Max thing left a bad taste in my mouth. And the whole "Tess murdered Alex" thing was CLEARLY so last-minute, but I was so eager to have Tess gone at that point that I was entirely willing to buy it. But I HATED that it meant Nacedo was never on their side to begin with. I loved it when he was running around, being their alien mentor.

Seeing as VMARS is my first fandom experience, I've always wondered how it compares to other fandoms.
