Don't I know it! I've had so many relatives all swear they just unthinkingly poured gasoline on bonfires in the last few years.
I had an uncle go through several skin grafts this summer. I escorted him to a discount store the morning it happened, then didn't see him out until Thanksgiving, and it was really shocking that he didn't look like anything had ever happened.

They really can do miracles in burn units these days. :-D Back a couple of years ago I read Daniel Brown's Under a Flaming Sky: The Great Hinckley Firestorm of 1894, in which he mentioned Barbara Ravage's Burn Unit: Saving Lives After the Flames. I ended up reading both, and I was amazed to learn the sort of things burn units can do now, and how far the field of burn medicine has evolved from the first modern innovations in 1942. It makes you wonder how far burn medicine will have advanced by 2050 or later.
