I don't know. The main problem is getting the things manufactured, loaded aboard rockets, and sent up into orbit -- and an orbit, moreover, in which they aren't in so much danger of being beaned by some other type of space junk. Which also entails a problem of nervousness on the part of the world's militaries as well as civilian governments, the former because of the possibilities of death rays and all that, the latter because they're all !#%!ing control freaks and don't want free energy being made available to the peons.

So it's clear where the main resistance to the idea comes from.
