I remember those. Although with some variations. (In one version, the teacher's fate was "I bopped her on the beanie with a rotten tangerinie.")

And the chorus to the ants was "And they all go marching down underground to get out of the rain."

There are countless variations on these, I'm sure, all of them calculated either to give vent to that natural, normal loathing of all children for school, or (like "The Ants Go Marching") to drive any adult in the vicinity out of his or her mind, or both. Preferably both. ;-) My foster brothers once almost caused a wreck by starting to sing it in the car when we were all headed to L.A. from Ventura (foster parents in charge) -- my foster-father pulled the car over to the side of the freeway at just under warp-speed, and started hitting a lot. They got him back eventually, though . . . muAHahahahah!

Wow, singing that first one these days would probably mean a very fast trip to a little room made out of cinderblock.

Tell me about it. On top of everything else, now they're killing childhood and our national sense of humor.

My favorite was to the tune of "On Top of Old Smoky" spookshow1313 July 10 2010, 04:17:06 UTC
Out on the playground
All covered in sand
I shot my poor teacher
With a huge rubberband
(or alternatively)
On top of the school house
all covered in blood
I shot my poor teacher
with a 44 slug

I shot her with pleasure, I shot her with pride
I just couldn't miss her, she's forty foot wide
I went to her funeral, I wept at her grave
Some people threw roses, I threw a grenade
I looked at the casket, she wasn't quite dead
So I took a bazooka and I blew off her head!
