You see, I fully agree with you that 2012 does not equal the end of anything - except perhaps the lives of a half-billion New Age monkeys who are working themselves into such a frenzy that they will die of their own paranoia.
Ah. You know, there have been Apocalypse frenzies like this before, and all of them, without exception, have left countless people sitting on the mountain they ascended with their guru in the cold of the morning after what was supposed to have been the end of the world, their guru missing and presumed somewhere far away, reveling in all the money and possessions he conned out of them, wondering what they'll do now that they gave away all their possessions to prepare for the end . . . That's one of the saddest things in the world, people who put their trust in a religious/mystical con-artist, took his word on the End Times, got ripped off by him, and are left with nothing to show for it. I'd pity them, except that most of them are adults who should know better, dammit, and have no excuse for buying into 2012 insanity!
