I haven't heard from Zach in /weeks/, and well... every time I hear about a marine casualty I cringe. I physically cringe.

Lord, I worry.

Have you heard anything from your father? He's safe and sound, I pray.

Dad is still State side, though he wants to be over there. He is a Recon Marine, and everytime he hears about a Recon casualty he gets very upset. He is like: "I should be over there! That is what the military trained me for!"

But his orders can change at any moment. One minute he could be state side and the next, to Kuwait...or Korea...or really anywhere.

I hope Zach is okay. I have a friend (she is enlisted Navy) whose older brother is a Marine, and the last they heard of him was when he was sent to Kuwait about two months ago. *shakes head*

Ah, okay. Somehow I thought he'd gotten orders to be sent over there. We're both lucky to have our fathers stateside then... but I'm sure you see yours as much as I see mine now. Once every two weeks just doesn't cut it. ~_~

It's... terrible how they won't let us have contact with our friends and family. Zach's mom hasn't heard anything from him in weeks either. I feel terrible for her... he's her oldest son and firstborn... *sighs*

*nods* Yeah, it must be very tough on the parents, not knowing where their son or daughter is or if they are even alive. Terrible, terrible.

Dad was actived in January and, because we live about ten or eleven hours away from Camp Lejeune, NC, he has come home only 3 times so far. But, the good news is, if he can take an extra day of leave, Dad wants to get home this weekend! I cannot wait to see him! It will be an early birthday present for me.
