May I ask what DW stands for? And is pokeshifting just trading someone some pokemon and then having them trade them back to you?

DW = Dream World...where you can get the pokemons of gen 4 or below but with new ability, known as Dream World Pokemons (like Drought Vulpix or Speed Boost Torchic)

No, pokeshifting isn't the same as tradeback. Pokeshifting is an one-way pokemon transferring method from Gen 4 (DPPt-HGSS) to Gen 5, in order to reobtain pokemons from your old game in your new game, similar to Pal Park. Once the pokemon is shifted into Gen 5, it cannot return to Gen 4 again. On the other hand, tradeback is when you ask someone to trade some pokemons between games of the same generation (eg. Pearl with SS) then trade that pokemons back for purpose like trade evo or dex data. They're in no way similar to one another. -.-"

this'll help me out a lot as i was having a hard time picking a starter between Snivy and Tepig.
