I approve - I think they could both use some real attention from each other. And if it complicates things, they're soon going to be too busy trying to save the world to worry about that, and then Jack will be gone with the Doctor, but the groundwork will have been laid for Jack's return and after some grovelling from Jack, they may be able to build on it!
