Because it's fun to have small talk.

So, I was thinking. Maybe we could talk a little about our favorite Pokémon, since that's what brings us together? And maybe our favorite Legendary as well?

I personally don't have any favorites, but I do enjoy reading about Darkrai. It's such a fascinating Pokémon, I find. What about the rest of you?

Well, I don't really have a favourite kind of Pokémon, but Pikachu and I are pretty good buddies.

As for legendaries, I think Ho-oh's kinda interesting...

It's like Swirl and I, we quickly grew attached to each other.

Ho-oh, huh. How come?

The day I left home... Pikachu and I almost got killed by a flock of Spearow in a thunderstorm... We somehow managed to survive though. When we came to afterward, I saw what I'm pretty sure was a Ho-oh, flying across a rainbow...

...Wow. You sure got lots of excitement as a Trainer. And wow, flying across a rainbow? That must've been beautiful!

...I helped a Darkrai who was being used by Team Dim Sun, and the year after, the remnant of them tried to use that power to try and take over Almia. That Darkrai helped me protect the region, thought, and after that, Darkrai left after we promised we would protect what he once guarded.

Any kind of Pokemon that helps me win is my favorite.

Oh yeah, I think Charizard is behind me with that look...

I mean, I like Charizard a lot! Can't go anywhere without him!

And che! What good is talking about legendaries if nobody can ever get any? Unless there's a way to actually get them, I'd rather leave them to the storybooks than dreaming about them on the battlefield.

Ahaha... I can understand why, thought.

And you have a Charizard? They're majestic, aren't they?

I'm interested in them because most people never get to see any of them. I consider myself blessed to have met Legendaries as a Top Ranger.

If by 'majestic' you mean 'crushes the competition' then yes, I think they're very majestic.

You actually met a legendary? What did you do, sit and have tea or something?

I was going for something like that, yes.

No, nothing like that. They were protecting special artifacts the Ranger Union needed so I had to temporary capture them to prove I was permitted to have said artifacts.

Hmm... I'm not sure I have a favourite, but I've always been fascinated by Flying-type Pokémon. I'd love to feel what it's like, to fly unassisted and to see everything from up high. Sailing is about as close to that feeling as I can get.

Maybe if I could just find and catch something big enough to carry me...

Oh, let me tell you, it's awesome. I tend to ride Staraptors for traveling, and it's such an amazing feeling. Actually, one of my fellow Rangers has a Staraptor as a Partner Pokémon, she's known as the Flying Ranger.

It sounds incredible. You and your fellow ranger are lucky. ...Makes me want to try it even more now! I suppose Staraptors are native to Sinnoh...?

They're the final evolution of Starly. And yes, they're mostly found in Sinnoh, although you can also find them in Almia.

I'd probably be saying this even if it wasn't true, mostly cuz' mine's completely nuts, but I've always liked Heracross.

And favorite Legendary? I've always wanted to see a Lugia.

Heracross, huh? Why so?

Oooh, a Lugia? It's such an elegant Legendary. I'd like to see one, too.

Right, because they're both Bug and Fighting types.
