I don't know if everyone is sick of this topic or if its frowned upon but it's something I finally approached myself. I was worried about the "blue screen" but I decided to try to clone a pokemon

The blue screen is good. It means you most likely did a successful clone. and usually, I'm at the counter, I think. I usually don't pay attention because I'm mashing the A button so it'll hurry. XD
The cloning tutorial I'm familiar says that you have to wait eight spins and turn it off - with all of my wireless connections, the number of spins changes dramatically every time I try. It can be very difficult to clone that way. I use the blinks on the wireless router to time when to shut it off and it works almost every single time. The last time I used it was last weekend, and I remember the character standing at the counter after the blue screen. Sometimes I get the blue screen but the clone process still didn't work. It's very finicky for timing.
It's been a while since I've cloned anything, so I wouldn't know if it's been fixed or not, but it kind of seems like it would extremely difficult to fix the cloning problem, since there would always be a small amount of time where the Pokemon's in both places at once.
So I wanted to ask people here who clone their pokemon using Diamond/Pearl - When you face the "blue screen error" and the game starts, are you at the counter or are you being ushered out first?
It could be either, depending on when the last game save was. If you just picked up/traded for another Pokemon on the GTS, the game saves there, so if you were to clone then, you'd be shown ushered out of the GTS. Otherwise, if you don't do that, you'll be back at the counter.
So there's still a possibility that my game can still clone? It's a pain in the neck. I've traded pokemon in and out to guess how long it'd take but I still fail to clone when I try to turn off at the right time.
Uhg…. Actually that is a great question. I tried to clone a number of times and haven’t yet been able to do it yet. I tried the eight spins, as well as counting to around 15 sec. or so……. Alas no clone, sniffle sniffle. Can anyone help me? I’m dense!
It all depends how fast your internet connection is. What you're trying to do is shut off the DS after it's verified with GTS that your pokemon is now up for trade but before it finishes saving. Depending on how fast your connection is, it may take less than 8 spins to get to the saving part.
Try shutting it off earlier or later.
The closer you are to your wireless router, the faster your connection will probably be.
