Diamond/Pearl Cloning Glitch Help?

Can anyone unlock the secrets of the D/P cloning glitch for me? I've read a lot of FAQS about cloning via the GTS, but I can't pull it off for the life of me. >:/

I've been experimenting with Bidoofs, but, ultimately, I'd love to clone my Palkia in hopes of a cloned Dialga.

Tips, tricks?

Today might not be the best day to test it, since I keep getting disconnected, but maybe it's working well again.

Anyway, I hate doing the cloning glitch the watch-the-spinning-clock way; this method is much easier, imo:

If you have a modem that you can look at without the signal being interrupted, it really, really helps. :D I don't get it all the time, but I definitely get it more than with watching the spinning clock. (Also, I barely overshoot it; as long as I react as soon as the lights flicker, I either get it or my Pokemon doesn't even leave me.)

Though if you can't do it the watching-the-modem way, then I don't know what tips I can offer, since I've never gotten it that way, either. ^^;;
