I'm trying to plan a team for Black/White, and was hoping you guys could help me out with a couple of questions that will affect my choices
( Read more... )
1) I've only used the Daycare after getting Fly (although that's just before going to the city with the 8th gym) but then I've only put one pkm in the daycare until after the 8th gym that I left two.
3) You beat the E4 once without the Champion battle during the main storyline (before you see the credits). Beating the E4+champion for real happens after the main storyline ends and you get the national dex. The function that lets you send your earlier Gen Pkms can only be found after you beat the main storyline. You'll find a building on Route 15 that allows you to use the Pokéshifter which will allow you to send pokémon from earler generations to B&W (A JP B&W will only work with a JP Older Gen game which could be the case for a US B&W).
You only get Fly just before the 8th gym?! Wow, that's late. Yeah, I knew about the Pokéshifter, I meant trading between two 5th Gen games (one of which would have to have beaten the E4 and Shifted some Pokémon). Didn't know about the language issue with the Shifter, though, that's kinda sucky.
Most possibly I'm just mixing up with another battle with Belle. She gives you fly after you beat her ><; (since your two rivals stalk you a lot it's hard to remember which battle). ...(Just checked you get Fly after a Battle with Belle on Route 6 which is before the 6th Gym)
I doubt you can trade a old Gen Pkm between two Gen5 games when one hasn't received the National Dex yet. Since with the previous games it also wasn't possible as you don't have the dex info for that pokémon.
1) I'm not sure, since I didn't use the Daycare until after beating the game. xD But I have a friend who has... I think around 6-7 badges who managed to breed some Pokabu Eggs. I have another friend who has 5 badges, so I could ask them to test out the Daycare on their game?
2) I was able to safely trade a Mijumaru Egg to my friend. So I'm assuming yes.
3) My friend who hasn't beat the game yet wanted a Ditto, so I offered to trade her one. I had one holding a Speed Powder (a common hold item on wild Ditto), and whenever I tried to trade it to her the trade would cancel automatically.
I tried to transfer a different Ditto (this time with no hold item) and the trade went through fine. I haven't tested it extensively, but hold items may have been what was causing the earlier trade to mess up.
Thank you very much! That helps a lot :) Yay! That means I can get the team I want without having to wait until around Victory Road :D Weird about the item trading, though.
Don't worry about asking your friend - I know of someone who's bred after the 5th Gym, I was just wondering if you could do it any earlier. Thanks for the offer, though!

And wild Ditto can be found in the wild after you beat the E4 so I caught a bunchload of them for trading / breeding purposes.
