Pokemon Stadium 1 and Pokemon Blue Quesitons

I know this is reaching FAR back, but I decided to start playing Pokemon Blue again. That's when I remembered about my copy of Pokemon Stadium. Now, my first question is simple. Could anyone suggest a good guide that can help me pick out rental Pokemon to use for the various Stadium cups? I just need something simple and useful.

Your last question confuses me. IIRC The level of the pokemon you traded pokemon would be the level of pokemon you traded for in RBY. It's been so long since I've played tho xD

I think that was the point of it, though. You trade a low level pokemon for a Pokemon that shouldn't exist at the specified level.

Actually, I just found out what it is. You can trade a Raichu for an Electrode. Electrode doesn't evolve until Lv 50, but Pikachu can evolve at any time thanks to just needing a Thunder Stone. Therfore, you can get a sub-30 Electrode with it.

Totally never thought of that trick, but it's awesome. I'm wondering, what were you intending to use that Electrode for? I'm pretty sure the petit cup just doesn't let evolved pokes in. The lv. 25-30 cup (whatever that was called) maybe? Curious, just cause I was playing the Stadiums again not too long ago. :3

It's mostly for the fact that it's somewhat unique. Sort of like my glitched-out Sneasel from Colo with four Icy Wind attacks.
