Monotype Team: Fighting!

Feb 22, 2008 20:14

In Gen I, the Fighting type was basically Alakazam fodder. Since every Ash and his Delia had one of those Psychic destroyers on their team (or if legendaries were allowed, the Broken One himself), it was pretty useless to train a Fighter. Then, Gen II rolled along, and both the new types they introduced were weak to Fighting. The type made a huge ( Read more... )

Hariyama <333

I wish I had the brain logic required to plan this sort of thing. And this is harking back to a previously posted team, but I caught a Sableye in my Emerald game and I have her on my team... I like her a lot (never bothered to try a Sableye before). I think I might spend my downtime at work next week seeing if I could make an all-Sableye team. Hardly uber, but hey--no weaknesses is a nice thing.

I wouldn't mind seeing a Steel type move on Lucario besides Metal Sound-- like perhaps Flash Canon rather than Dark Pulse, to take advantage of the STAB and to give the chance of lower special defense.

Otherwise, rad team! I always liked Fighting types.

Steel is a very crappy offensive type because it's only super-effective against Rock and Ice types, both of which are covered with STAB by its primary Fighting type. Plus, most Steel type moves aren't very accurate. It's a great defensive type, but the only Steel type move I use on a regular basis is Metagross' Meteor Mash.

Scary Face is an interesting choice for Machamp. Still, it could force switches and thus allow you to get in a few more Bulk Ups, so it could work. The one thing I would recommend is Stone Edge over Rockslide. Even with Scary Face, Machamp's not going to be outspeeding much, so I'd say Stone Edge's 25 extra points of base power and a high chance of critical would be more useful than flinch ( ... )

Ah I forgot Grass Knot was a special attack. Back to the old drawin' board on Infernape.

This would work a lot better:

Infernape @ Expert Belt / Life Orb
- Close Combat
- Overheat
- Grass Knot
- Stone Edge
EVs: 128 Atk / 252 Spd / 128 SAtk
Naive Nature (+Spd, -Sp Def)

Mixed Sweeper and quite devastating! Over heat and if they switch to a counter, it'll take off a good chunk of HP. Then, hit it with some physical moves.

I use something pretty similar, but with Nasty Plot instead of Stone Edge, and Flamethrower instead of Overheat.

Lucario! <3 Though he does well with Shadow Claw and Aura Sphere. Also I have a Riolu that knows Blaze Kick. I can get you one if you like.
