[If you're somebody Edmond has met in previous threads, a Zangoose will approach you with an envelope containing a very special invitation. The Pokémon will hand it to you and then disappear into the wilderness ( Read more... )

[Maxie has never really been the sort for gratuitous displays of weaponry like that, though that's less through a lack of interest in weapons and more through the thought that it's a bit like the sword of Damocles, and there's just the generally unshakeable feeling that one day something is going to come down, and it will be very unpleasant when it does. At the same time, he can appreciate it as a statement, he supposes, and between the massive sword collection, elaborate decor and the Magma Emblem - the whole thing more or less makes it rather plain who lives here.

The place is...certainly interesting, if a bit loud. It's not exactly to Maxie's tastes, but he can't help but think vaguely that it suits Edmond.

At least the main room isn't too difficult to find, because he's certainly not about to wander aimlessly through someone else's residence for no real reason; a light smirk crosses his features as his gaze alights upon that figure on the couch.]

Well, Edmond. It seems that the island has provided for you.

[The statement is ( ... )

[Maxie has a Mightyena, right? So he might be able to recognize the look on Edmond's face as he springs to his feet to look at him - the look of a docile pup who's elated to see his master.]

... Ah! Maxie! I knew you would come! Please, make yourself at home!

[He subconsciously mirrors Maxie's sweeping gesture, indicating that he may help himself to the treats or sit near the fireplace with him - there's a chair about a foot closer to the fireplace than the couch, too.

... Also, what does it say about Edmond that he barely bothers to check which Maxie this is before initiating conversation? Then again, in his defense, between the red walls and the fireplace, the entire room is bathed in a scarlet twilight which kind of makes it hard to tell gray eyes from red.]

[Well, this one looks a little less like he's strung out on crack, if that helps any?

But really, he'll just be joining Edmond in sitting close to that fireplace; he considers the chair for a long moment before joining him on the couch - the weather has been turning with a vengeance, and the cold has never been something Maxie is terribly partial to. At the same time, being too close to the fire is uncomfortable, all things considered; the couch is fine.

He does keep his distance, however, settling himself on the opposite end of the couch and crossing his legs idly at the knee before shooting another glance at Edmond.]

What's the occasion, hm?

[Edmond sits back down and - ah - they're sitting on the same piece of furniture together now? That's... absolutely wonderful! It makes Edmond blush a little.]

Ah, there's no special occasion, I... I just wanted you to know where I live. I assume you saw the lock?

[He's very proud of that lock. It's the best lock there is. ;-; It means that anyone from Team Magma is always welcome in his house!]

[Dum di di do; Delta happens to be walking around with a Fearow and what might look to be a small candle pokemon following her about. The house she sees while daring to walk to the CMA, but this has effectively distracted her.]

Ohh? What's this place..?

[The door appears open; childish!Delta knocks lightly before entering the home; her two curious Pokemon following in tow. Hitomoshi (The Tiny Candle) seems to race on ahead, before coming across a fire in the Living Room and making a happy face!

Delta follows soon after, before looking to see someone she recognises!]

Oh, Edmond! I haven't seen you in a while, haha~

[Edmond gets up from the couch and walks over to Delta to properly greet her.]

Hello, Delta! Please, make yourself comfortable! As you can see, I have treats for you this time as well, if you like! And... oh?

[He bends to look at the odd-looking Pokémon that he's never seen before.]

And who might this be...?

[Delta smiles very much! Treats are nice and--oh yeah!]

Thank you very much! Oh! Well...I never actually saw this Pokemon before now. She calls herself 'Hitomoshi', if I remember correctly.

A Fire type, I would assume? Did you find her here on the Island?

Please, help yourself to whatever you like best!

[The delivery of the invitation itself had been a bit of a what-the-hell moment, as far as Maxie was concerned. Unique, of course. But a what-the-hell moment, regardless. As it was, it was fairly obvious who it was from - the Zangoose and the flowery language were more than enough of a giveaway. Very formal. Unsurprising.

Normally he would have ignored it, but. Given the fact that he'd spent so long in the company of...well, Archie, and that was about it - he couldn't exactly say that he wasn't interested to see what Edmond was on about this time.

The place was easy enough to find; Maxie couldn't say that he was exactly surprised that the lock resembled that weird...thing that Edmond had been flailing about on his arrival. However! The door swings open easily at his touch, and inside...

Oh, hell no.

Maxie has never been one to surround himself with things, especially as an adult; he has his reasons, but the most he's ever really spoiled himself with has been his appearance and things devoted to its upkeep - he spared no money when ( ... )

Ah...!

[Recognizing Maxie's voice, Edmond rises and turns to greet him with a smile. He squints a little in the red semi-darkness as he figures out which Maxie this is - he prides himself on having become better at telling the two of them apart, though the operation still takes him a little longer than it would take any normal person.

Oh, he's the Maxie who is his trial boyfriend... or something! Neat!]

Welcome, Maxie! I was sure you would come! Please, make yourself at home!

[However, as he steps closer to Maxie - and he finds himself stepping perhaps a little too close - he notices that something is a little bit out of place.]

... Is anything the matter, my dear?

[The proximity actually doesn't bother him, and Maxie sees no reason to flinch back or increase the gap between them; if he had a reason not to trust the man, it would be a different case, but as it is? Edmond is harmless.

The term of endearment isn't exactly something he likes, as is evidenced by the slight narrowing of his eyes, though again, it's something he'll let go for now.]

Nothing, really - just considering your weaponry. You have quite the collection, after all.

Why, thank you! [He smiles and bows his head.] This is not all of it, however.

The point is, there's not enough space for them here. It pains me to see them all crammed like this, with barely any room for the eye to rest. And when I say it pains me, I do mean quite literally - doesn't it give you a bit of a headache? It's a shame, quite frankly.
