Clearly, everything is Charon's fault.

[Despite it being early July, the weather's fairly mild today. The sun is shining, there's a pleasant hint of a breeze, and... hold on, is that someone shouting from behind you?]

Release that container and return to the residence at once! And you had best not even dare--!

[That's about all you hear before you get thoroughly drenched by a bucket ( Read more... )

[Spluttering and getting indignant and ready to--]

...The hell? Why'd ya do that? [Annoyed. And a bit wary.]

[And in spite of the bucket in his hands, Charon shakes his head.]

I assure you that this was no fault of my own.

Don't see anyone else who could have done it.

[Senile old man. No, Charon, Platinum does not like you.]

Do not be foolish. A mere observation of this location will reveal...

[... that Rotom is still invisible and everyone else is too far away to have possibly thrown the water unless they had Speed Boost in effect.]

... that I am far from the only person present.

[ That tall guy that's looming over Charon? That really tall, soaking wet, armored guy? He looks pissed. ]

[If he wasn't so used to having to deal with Cyrus on a regular basis, Charon might actually be terrified of such an imposing figure. But no, he's just... feeling a lot smaller than usual. And maybe a slight bit intimidated, even if this guy has crazy armor.]

... I implore you to not leap to uncertain conclusions.

Uncertain?

[ He looks pointedly at the bucket in Charon's hand, then goes back to glaring down at the scientists. ]

No. This conclusion is quite certain.

Err... [Let's drop this bucket now, shall we?]

Surely you have encountered at least one phantom upon this island? They are certainly a... restless sort, and appear to have a fondness for executing pranks of this nature.

Hack hack, what was that for?!

[Simon attempts to catch breath, looking up at him.]Roaming electricity?

Hey I thought I was suppose to be the mad scientist here!

Do not place blame upon me for an action I did not do.

[He bristles a bit at that last remark.] And I am hardly a "mad scientist". I believe the appropriate term would be "scientific genius".

Well I'm sure you did it, why looking at you says it all!..Though I'm not sure if its genius if you splash people with water, haha!

That latter statement I will concede, if only for the fact that I am not responsible for drenching you with water. There are some denizens on this island with the ability to alter their visibility, you realize.

[Well it's not too bad, he just shakes a lot of the water off after flailing around a bit

and he GLARES

and yes it's aimed at you, Charon.]

[Well, have a glare right back at you.]

Do not turn such a scowl on me, child. I am not to blame for that utterly ridiculous prank.

[Mesprit shrieks as she is drenched in water, immediately wrapping her arms around herself for warmth afterward.

Nice going, Charon, you just made a pretty girl cry.]

W-Why would you...!

[A pretty girl you are, but that won't guilt-trip him enough into apologizing for this.]

I must insist that I did not.

[If Mesprit is capable of detecting emotions as a human, there is an overwhelming amount of amusement in the immediate vicinity, and yet it's not coming from Charon.]

[Fortunately, she can, and she can sense another presence very close by, but she can't see them.]

...Who is the one responsible?

[While Charon's reluctant to reveal the whole truth, he doesn't have much qualm with giving a half-truth.]

Presumably the ghost Pokémon that I was attempting to follow. My previous observations of that particular ghost have revealed it to be a particularly mischievous one.
