I DON'T KNOW well okay actually I do. The most recent page is yesterday's; she updates not-quite-every-day so. It's always a treat to pop over and be like OOH NEW PAGE. /o/ ♥
I... have no idea. :x I can't really complain, since most of my original stuff has a male main character, though not all or mostly male casts I don't think.
Though HINABN is definitely good with the girls you do get! Toni is already kinda awesome, and the vampire chick (who hasn't been named yet) is apparently gonna be a recurring villain, which is just sweet. Also, Veser's mom is really important to the current storyline, as it turns out, though in a passive way (though that more mimics the mythology it's based on).
The one thing I've seen that makes sense is that in a lot of cases, people who draw tend to be more attracted to drawing and better at drawing people of the sex they're attracted to, at least at first. I know one of my friends flat-out said that it took her forever to be able to draw females correctly for reasons similar to that; she just had more interest in the male form. While I can't exactly come up with a good answer as to why so many storytellers online tend to write mostly the opposite sex -- simple attraction to

A-aawww. I can understand that stumbling block; I loves me some awesome female characters and am glad that my shounen usually does tend to have at least some (Reborn is... lacking in numbers for a long while, definitely, but always seems to have at least one Awesome Girl around, and Keroro's got a large chunk of female main characters). I think the only thing I watch that doesn't have more than a couple girls is Transformers Animated, because oh god the Transformers universe and its... thing with female 'bots. I think there's like a total of six, two of which only show up once, and one of which is Starscream. 8|
But if it helps, the comic is gorgeous, and thusly all of the female characters are gorgeousaswell -- and have mostly been shown to be pretttty kickass. And it's not a huge cast; I think from what we've heard so far, it's going to wind up being six major good guy characters (maybe six major -- it might only be four major and two minor, but either way Toni's one of the major), and two recurring "villains," one of which is
