Is the Batman Inc thing the Batgirl story that got set up and never happened way back when? Is it all G-Mo or did Miller do some of it? I'm kind of curious but probably not enough to get it.

Re: Batwoman, I have to think that they're going to keep Bette around, because they've done too much with her. I hope so anyway. . . I don't mind Chase and Maggie, but Bette (+ the eventual return of Daddy Kane) = the supporting cast that I want to see.

Yeah, I think it's basically the leftover Batman Inc. issues, the first of which is Steph's. I think it's all Morrison - the Steph issue certainly is, and I didn't bother to read the rest.

THEY BETTER. I think it's too good a book to write someone out by hospitalizing and forgetting about her.

Utterly, utterly off-topic, but did you see The Artist? I think it would be relevant to your interests.

As always, your reviews are a delight!

I sort of remember reading the original The Ray mini-series. (Not "original Golden Age original", but the one about his son or whatever.) It was pretty good. As I recall, he kept accidentally burning his pants off, which was pretty hilarious.

Ha, it's actually a running gag in this one that he can't wear clothes when he's the Ray and is just reflecting light to make it look like he's wearing clothes. I didn't realize that was a proud tradition!

His dad (the Golden Age Ray who had the unlikely name of "Happy") was the WORST FATHER EVER. Basically, he told his son, Ray, that he (Ray) was allergic to light and kept him in total darkness, cut off from everybody, then let two abusive nuns and a "fake dad" raise him.

Then when his son was eighteen (when his fake!dad died), Happy came back and was like, "SURPRISE YOU HAVE LIGHT POWERS! Aren't you happy? OMG, why haven't you mastered your light powers already? I told you about them at least two hours ago, TRY HARDER!"

Woooow, nice job Golden Age Ray!

I've mostly only read Ray in YJ and Justice League Task Force where he and Triumph basically spent all their time flirting. Also one time Guy scolded him for being a jerk and that was great.
