i have no problem choosing a favorite player by looks. i mean, it's hard not to. (although it does happen that i think david wright is too pretty-pretty with his waxed eyebrows and do prefer goofy looking ones COUGH PELF

people can like whoever they want to like for what ever reason, as far as i'm concerned. i only get irritated when people try to act like the guy they like because he's hot is a good baseball player when he's not.

to be fair, cabrera did have an amazing slider. he just had a shitty everything else. (and he had a lot of other people going for a while there too. so i can't feel too bad. but still.)

I love my baseball men not just because they are hot but beause they are scrappers on the field and work their asses off (and yes, get totally fucked over by their manager and remain as pinch-hitters...GRRRRR...when they should be STARTING like everyone else on the team from time to time)...sorry, had to vent about fucking Bob Melvin benching my lover, Jeff Salazar!

Anyway, yes, I say if you're going to be a fan, support your players no matter if they are hot or not.

Haha well, tbh, it'd be great if our fave players could start all 162 games, but, I understand that (for example), my boy Werth hits much better against lefties, and that one of my faves, Greg Dobbs, as much as I ideally would want him to start, he's a PH machine, not at prolific when he starts, and it kills to not have him there off the bench And all that. So you kind of have to roll with the punches, for the good of the team.

It's the hypocrisy that makes me snorfle. I slash whatever makes sense, looks be damned. Sure some of the people I slash may be handsome or hot or adorable, but that's surely not why I'm slashing them. I'm slashing them because it makes sense and there's actual evidence of it. That's a concept that a lot of people seriously need to get more of a grasp on.
