Mark today as the day that baseball doesn't seem so far away anymore.

It'll probably REALLY hit me once the NBA All-Star break hits. Not the game, mind you. The break. That is, there are two games on Thursday, the 15th, before the break. Same days as P&C for a lot of teams. And I will slowly begin to phase myself in, after I go on a basketball binge that weekend. Like um, rehab. Or something ( Read more... )

I made a soundtrack for the '04 Red Sox once. Couple weeks after the WS, I think. It's kind of embarrassing to think about >.>

NO BUT IT DOES! David was in Florida before he went to the DR which was CONVENIENTLY the same time that Jake arrived in Florida. ALSO, D-TRAIN CONNECTION!

Aw, no it's okay. I don't know if I have entire soundtracks to any one team, but there's a few songs that I associate to the 93 Phils, and who doesn't here "Don't Stop Believin'" and think about those annoying ChiSox from last year? :P

You know, I've heard soooo many people say that the White Sox ruined that song for them, but I honestly don't think I'd know that was the CWS song but for the fact that people keep mentioning it to me. It's weird.

lol, I think the only reason they don't "ruin" that song, for me, is because I find them to be a rather likeable bunch. Maybe not all individually, but as a team, sure.

I have the Go Cubs Go song, which is lyk, amazing. But I don't think that counts.

I don't really have playlists for teams/players. As for songs that represent the Cubs? I don't officially have any of those either.

I used to have the perfect song that summed up the suckyness of them not winning, but I can't remember it for the life of me. Though I must admit, in a weird way, Chicago's Hard Habit to Break sums up the offseasons. X[

I seem to tie Franz Ferdinand to the BabyFish of last year. I guess it's just the vibe of the songs collectively more than anything. No songs really stand out in particular where I'm like, SONG FOR THE FISH!, but Franz's songs are usually upbeat and fun with a hint of ;D to them.

Chicago's Hard Habit to Break sums up the offseasons.
lol. Aw. That is sad. Because it's appropriate.

I totally make soundtracks for teams. I have a whole damn playlist for the Cyclones. :D The songs are mostly random or have like one like that makes me think of something. And a lot of Incubus songs remind me of them for some reason.

Mikey is sooo your version of me with Doug, and eeep. I'm buying a Yankees shirt, omfg, I might spontaneously combust.

The songs are mostly random or have like one line that makes me think of something.

YEP! That is how it is for me. Like I told Kay, I have Franz for the BabyFish, mainly for the vibe and attitude of their song. But it's funny, because the one line of "The Fallen" ('need a bit of black & blue to be a rotation') completely slays me and I'm like, "ahahaha fitting ♥", even though the entire song in itself makes no sense about anything though. but Franz=Fish songs for me.
And, on that same topic, I have a lot of Rolling Stones songs on my Dirk/Steve playlist.

Okay. Yeah I rambled, I figured that would make sense to you though. xD

Haha, I don't think I'd buy a jersey of every team Mike ends up on. That's Steve. I soooo want a Suns-throwback Nash jersey.

UGH I JUST REALIZED, Mike replaced Doug and now HE has the injury bug! What did Doug do to him in NY?

Of course it makes sense to me. :D

Haha, I totally added the Modest Mouse song "Dashboard" to my list of Clones songs, because of this line: "hardwired to conceive so much we had to stow it even except these times johns with bonny at johns" which doesn't even really make sense, but I thought it said "Connie" not "Bonny" and that's what we call Conrad, and we call Erik (y'know, his lovahhh) "Johnny" ... that song's so random.

Woo throwbacks.

I am going to feel so dirty when I go to Cleveland in August to see Doug, omgosh.

Haaaaaaaaahaaaaaa... what did Doug do to him in NY... :P

That OTP always lived! It was just on life support or something. David always knew that he still loved Mikey. IT WAS INEVITABLE. :)

I had a soundtrack for the 04 Red Sox, but it died with my old computer. Oh woe. :(

And. Those uniforms are um, terrible. Is that a strong enough word? Blech.

BUT MIKEY DOESN'T LOVE DAVID BACK BECAUSE DAVID IS A FREAKIN' RETARD ABOUT EVERYTHING AND RUINED IT!
so there. :P

I think I told you, I have that song on my iTunes that makes me think of the 93 Phils and I get all choked up.

Haha but the Pirates are terrible. Is that a strong enough word?

Haha, I bet David got to Mike's, all like, I'LL SURPRISE HIM!, and he got there, and Mike's making out with his wife. xD

"Tessie" still brings a huge smile to my face, and I don't even really like that song. But it MENTIONS THE RED SOX and they used it as the rallying song in 04. SO, by default. ♥

No. The Pirates are one of those teams where the dream is not to make the playoffs, it's to play .500 baseball. At home. :P

And, that's the best icon ever but you knew that already. X GONNA GIVE IT TO ME! :D
